A COVID-19 Update from Our Commissioner

I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.
To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.
Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

The IRS website said my check was deposited yesterday, April 29, but it’s still not showing on my Direct Express card where my Social security and disability payments are made to. Any idea how long it will take to clear?

Good day,my husband passed away last July 27 2019, and since he passed I can’t work because I’m getting sick and I decided to go back in my country in the Philippines because I don’t have anybody here in USA, he was the only one that I have since he passed away I started to get sick because I missed him so much. My question was can I apply early retirement as the age of 35? thank u

I am my son payee and his money goes in my account will he still get the stimulus check

We are seniors who have done our taxes up until 2017 was the last time we filed because we found out we didn’t have to file because our income was less than 24K per year (low income). Do we need to fill out a form or do we get a check or direct deposit? I have heard different scenarios. Can you please help?

What about those of us that worked for decades, paid our bills and were responsible? Why do we always get the short end of the stick. It is reprehensible.
But even some people who don’t fall into that bucket have already received a paper check in the mail. The IRS began sending those out last week, starting with low-income individuals.
In some cases, families have received money for deceased relatives This can happen when someone has died since filing their 2018 or 2019 tax return. Families are expected to pay back that money, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told the Wall Street Journal Tuesday.

This week, payments are being delivered to millions of Social Security recipients who don’t file tax returns. They can expect the money to automatically arrive however they normally receive their benefits, whether by a check in the mail or direct deposit to their bank account or debit card.

I am wondering the same thing a LOT of people are wondering. I get SSI and still have not received my stimulus payment. I have a couple neighbors that are also on SSI and they received theirs. How do I track my payment? I’ve tried using the “Get My Payment” tool through the IRS, but I only get the “Payment Status Not Available” message.

I’m a SSDI receipient & I haven’t received my stimulus check via my direct deposit.
Yes, I’m qualified to receive the check, because no one carried me as a dependent on their 2019 taxes.

Mr. Saul, I have one more comment There maybe thousands of qualified SSDI receipients, who have not received their stimulus checks ; even dead people have received checks.
Why haven’t the Social Security Administration, contacted the IRS with data of qualified Social Security receipients, who did not receive their checks?
