I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.
To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.
Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

He only mentions individuals, families, business and unemployed, not us. Its just too much money.

Its always to much when it comes to the poor and needy. Let the bill line their pockets and watch them sight it asap.

Turns out this huge payout benefits rich and people who have NOT lost their jobs. They filed a tax return in 2018. I did not only receive 1000 SSI (not enough) and will get not a dime.

my gram has already spent all of her money and still needs milk and bread next week. a lot of her money was eaten up by home delivery service. she also bought rubber gloves, and did some pizza take out this last week because she is afraid to go out. we help her as best as possible. please just do the right thing here and help her.

My husband filed his income tax. We filed joint even tho’ I’m on SSI. I wonder how that’s going to work.

Some I.
Ok my understanding is if you receive social security and file an income tax you will receive the $1,200. I just heard on tv that you should file an income tax EVEN if it amounts to zero… you need to file to be on the IRS list to get the money…
My question is. I’m on SSI, my husband and I filed joint since he did work. I wonder if we’ll both get it or just he’ll get it.
So darn confusing.
warren t.
but why would you file if you do not work, and have nothing to file? if it were that easy, we all would file and they would have to give us the $1200 instead of the $600 that they were sorta maybe.. not giving us, which they really never wanted to do. I think there is a loop file to filing without needing to that we don’t know, and I’m not about to get stuck in… not for $1200. Yes, it would be extremely helpful… but at what cost?
Some I.
I believe that $600 is out of the picture. It’s $1,200.
All I know is the man on tv said everyone should file even if you get nothing back on a federal return, you’ll be able to get the $1,200. I don’t know if that includes SSI people tho’.
Hopefully once this passes we’ll understand it a little more.

The problem with this is that they have to go by 2018 taxes since they changed filing date a couple months they gave no up to date info to go on. Which would mean it doesn’t matter if you file now! Idk where I stand on this topic. I get sad and manage to survive. Im more worried about possible price gouging. Which would make an already struggling life even harder. I do know that there are people who truly need all the help they can get and don’t have the safety net of families. I think that what we all need to do is think of our neighbors, friends and family. Be greatful to be alive. I hope everyone gets what they need to get thru this trying time

Why give us money when they want us to sacrifice our lives to restart their economy yes their economy was doing great and can again but not for us I’m looking at you Republicans
Vote them out in November!
timothy d.
You can count on that Mark. I will help take care of that come November.
