Why won’t anyone answer the question about the stimulus money? Those of us on ssdi and ssi are going to get screwed again. We need it the most yet are being treated as usual as though we are invisible. I cant feed myslf most months as it is.

    • CJL

They aren’t answering the questions about the $1,000 checks because the details haven’t been worked out yet. No one knows who/what/how because the “plan” is still being developed.

      • Glenn P.

Thank you for saying that. All people have to do is follow the news to get the answers they’re looking for. Every one of these complainers have a computer and internet access because they posted their questions online. And for those of you who ‘are not good with computers’ you should be ashamed of yourselves. The personal computer has been available to the public for 40 years. If you haven’t taken the time to learn it, that’s on you, and you won’t get much sympathy. I am a senior in the same boat as all of you, and I will wait for the government to announce to the public what they will do. Quit being selfish during this pandemic and take responsibility for yourself. God bless us all!

      Please see link above

      Direct quote
“The checks, however, would reduce to $600 (or $1,200 for married couples) for taxpayers who have little or no income tax liability but have at least $2,500 in qualifying income, according to a GOP summary of the plan.”

If you do not understand what this means exactly then please enlighten yourself… Also.. please keep in mind that that the details have not been finalized and everything is still being worked out.. if you watch multiple news channels then you will find pretty much the same answer..and if you are able to navigate this website then you are able to do a Google or Bing search…. Have a nice day

Just a little extra food for thought…I feel for those of you who actually have a true disability or have retired.. I understand that you are limited to living on what you have… Myself I am a healthy woman in her 30’s I have 2 kids and I did have a full time job.. my children count on me to make sure we have a roof over our heads and food in our stomachs.. I do not get food stamps I get no government aid at all.. so while next month you are guaranteed your money I am now not.. how am I to feed my kids? How am I to pay rent next month or the next? So while I see many people complaining and dispairing what they don’t have it are not getting…please keep in mind those of us who are single parents that do everything on there own with no help or assistance from the government at all living pay check to pay check.. at least you have something..

      • Jack T.

Listen up! Everyone will recieve a $1,200 stimulus payment beginning when the stimulus payments are started. Don’t believe everything you read from magazines and news channels. You will get your $1,200. The $600 junk spoken of here was from the Obama era.

    • Margaret A.

Google SS , it says that SS checks will not be affected by Stimules Check because it is not considered earned income. So that tells me that anyone on SS,SSD,SSI and any other SS will be receiving a Stimules Check

  2. Jeannine T.

I see the question I’ve been asking has not been answered please let us senior’s know if we get the $1,000.00 is we live on social security and don’t make enough to file taxes.

  3. Yamini S.

Coronavirus is rapidly increasing worldwide or we don’t know when it’ll end. So Stay safe from Coronavirus and Don’t Forget to Wash Your Hands.

  4. Ed M.

Communication with SSA by telephone or internet should be considered Fraud, Waste or Abuse of government funds. The people who answer the 800 number refer back to the local office. The local office very, very rarely answers a phone; then you are referred back to the 800 number. If you visit the local office and request to see a supervisor, none are available. If I ask for a telephone number or name I am told they are prohibited from giving out that information.

    • Denise A.

Not true , local offices no longer take calls in , if you call the 800 they do give you a option for a call back . You record your name with your voice for security . So when the SS worker calls you know it’s a legit call . As far as a stimulus check for people on SSI and SSID their website says not the people on SSI . This check is suppose to help us Americans during this hard time . Every single American is feeling the affect of this . Why would they think a person receiving $800 a month not need the help also ? Everyone is paying high prices for normal everyday living supplys. But I guess we will have to wait and see the out come . .

      • brandon

What about people like me on ssdi? Will they get a check too?

  5. Joseph R.

What scammer came up with the amount $1000 ? The gouernment has not issued a exact amount, bet the 6th April was put out. There are some stupid and greedy people out there.

  6. Pierre B.

Why are poultry plants allowed not to wear a mask and why does the USDA have to work in those conditions no sanitizer , no temperatures checked of employees or USDA workers..Plant employees are within 6 feet working 50 more people in the same room we are in violation of every code .Pilgrim Pride

  7. Julia B.

Cant seem to get a response to will people on social security get the 1000

    • Donn E.

I know.. I’m looking for answers as well and its sad that they think we can live with the little money we get monthly. This is really starting to scare me as I suffer with ptsd and have no food in my house and was not prepared for this. I’m physically impaired as well and cannot work. I struggle as it is with my bills and budget pinching pennies every month. I pray we get answers soon! God bless us all!

      • Jeff B.

(I’ve been posting this question, so this is just an additional comment for “us folks” on Social Security)

@AnneC. “Social Security *drone*” blogger – “she” ***never*** answers the COVID 19 Stimulus Check for folks collecting some form of Social Security.
My thought: I’ve been disabled (SSDI) since 2004, and don’t make enough to require filing tax return. I’ve **never** received stimulus’ checks, so pretty much am disappointed that folks who don’t file, don’t receive.
So, AnneC — will you answer this clearly stated question: WILL FOLKS WHO AREN’T REQUIRED TO FILE A TAX RETURN, BE INCLUDED DURING THIS DISASTER?
Yup, all caps AnneC. Maybe someone attending to this blog will answer the hundreds of questions posed about COVID 19 Coronavirus Stimulus Check, in relation to those of us who rely on Social Security to survive.

          Answers pleasee÷

        • Chasity

I would like to know this too. I am disabled and have 2 kids. I dont file taxes so I guess that means those of us who receive disability will not get any of the stimulus. How that works I dont get
I mean i do a bit but still it would be nice to receive a little extra help.

          https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/19/coronavirus-updates-senate-republicans-to-release-relief-bill.html?recirc=taboolainternal

Cash payments of up to $1,200 would go to individuals, with up to $2,400 for couples. The sum would increase by $500 for every child. The check totals would start to phase out above $75,000 in adjusted gross income based on 2018 tax returns. People with no federal tax liability would get only $600 = WE GET 600.00

        • KC

I receive ssd and ssi. I received the 2008 stimulus check, so would assume we will get this one. As pointed out by several posts before mine, none of it has been voted on or signed by trump so it’s all up in the air for now. Stay well.

  8. Thomas M.

Thank you so much for the update on our benefits and all that the SS administration does to keep us well informed on every thing. Stay healthy yourselves in this time of the Pandemic and may God bless us all.

  9. Lisa T.

will people on disability receive the stimulus package because we are the ones who really need it, had to borrow money for the rush of getting the things needed.

  10. D R.

Will people already getting social security benefits by direct deposit, get any additional money, such as the $1000 stimulus Pkg ? If we r still working, will the government add any additional money to compensate when we r required to stay home?

    • Edward G.

Will people getting disability each month get the thousand dollar pay out that Trump is talking about to help them out also?
