SSA StatementHave you ever received a Social Security Statement in the mail? You know, the one that shows all the earnings you’ve had each year and how much you could receive per month in Social Security benefits when you retire? The Statement contains crucial information workers need to plan for a comfortable retirement. Now, thanks to my Social Security, this information—and so much more— is only a few minutes away!

Your personal my Social Security account is secure and gives you ready access to your earnings records, Social Security benefit estimates, and printable Statements. Those who already receive benefits can view their payment history, current status, and manage their benefits.

To open a personal my Social Security account, go to our website and select “Create an Account” to get started. You must be 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, U.S. mailing address (or a military address if deployed overseas), and an email address.

Once registered, you can:

  • Verify your earnings history.
  • View estimated Social Security benefits based on your past earnings.
  • View Social Security and Medicare taxes you’ve paid over your lifetime.
  • Print your current Social Security Statement.
  • Request a replacement Social Security card (in some states).

If you’re currently getting benefits, you can:

  • View benefit payment information.
  • Change your address and phone number.
  • Start or change electronic payments.
  • Get a replacement Medicare card.
  • Get a replacement 1099 for tax season.

    Hello

I am a US citizen living in Republic of Ireland, 59 years old. Is it possible to get a social security statement by registering online or is a statement sent by post my only option? I see that to register for ‘My social security’ online access requires a US address.

    Thanks for any help.
    John

Hi, John. We recommend that individuals living outside the United States contact their local Federal Benefits Unit for any assistance related to Social Security benefits. Also, our Office of International Operations home page provides more information to assist our customers living abroad. We hope this information helps.

Why can’t there be an easy to access window to verify if payments were made or not to our bank accounts for the current month?

Why do we have to go hunting or on a safari to find the right button or magic window to verify whether our payments were deposited or not for the month we are in??

Also, why don’t you deposit the money I have coming to me so that it can grow an provide me a larger amount so that I can really live my life in comfort and security instead of living my life with insecurity and fear of being homelessness.

But most of all did SSA deposit my payment into my new bank account for which I have provided the correct bank account number?

    Sincerely

    • R.F.

Unfortunately, and because of security reasons we do not have access to personal records in this blog and cannot answer your question at this time. One of our representatives should be able to provide you with an explanation. Please call our toll free number at 1-800-772-1213 for assistance. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Generally, you will have a shorter wait time if you call later during the day or later in the week.
Remember, if you already receive retirement or spouse’s retirement benefits, you can get information and services for managing your benefits on line. Thanks!
