I would like to get a social security statement if possible on my deceased husband. I turn 60 next October and trying to figure if I get collect on his social security or retirement. I have no clue where to start or who to contact.

    • R.F.

Hello Priscilla. Your survivors benefit amount is based on the earnings of the person who died. The more they paid into Social Security, the higher your benefits would be. The monthly amount you would get is a percentage of the deceased’s basic Social Security benefit.
For examples of the benefits that survivors may receive click here.
One of our agents may be able to help you setting up an appointment to apply for your benefits and provide an estimate of your monthly benefit amount.
Please call our toll free number at 1-800-772-1213. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thanks!

I cannot get into my account! Every time I try answering the verification questions it says I got them wrong. I have pulled all three (TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax) and am 100% certain I answered all questions correctly. Then I had to spend an hour on the phone getting my account unlocked, and I still cannot get in.

I am me! I don’t know how else to prove it if your information about me is incorrect!

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Please fix this!
