you know where to find usFor 80 years, Social Security has been there for you and your family when you need us most. And, finding us at our field offices, where you can speak with an employee face-to-face, is easier than ever!

Our handy Field Office Locator is accessible from your computer and mobile device. On the website, you can enter your zip code to find the address, phone number and hours of the Social Security office closest to you. You can also use this tool to see a map and get directions; if you’re on your mobile device, it will even give you turn-by-turn directions.

Since you are already online, you could skip the traffic and lines by taking advantage of our other online features, too. Check out What You Can Do Online, where you’ll find that many of our services are just a click away!

For example, you use the Retirement Estimator to estimate future benefits, apply for Social Security benefits online and sign up for a personal my Social Security account. Setting up a personal my Social Security account is convenient and secure. You’ll have access to your Social Security Statement, and if you already receive benefits, you can view and print your verification letter and manage your benefits.

Some people prefer doing business in person, though, and that’s why our offices are there! Our employees are passionate about providing you with the best service possible, and we’re proud of our long history of doing so. When you visit us, whether in person or online, we’re always ready to help!

      Hi Carlos, thank you for using our blog. If you’re receiving Social Security benefits on your own record, your birth day determines your payment date:

      Date of Birth Payment Day:
      1st through 10th Second Wednesday

      21st through 31st Fourth Wednesday

    I have been trying for over a month now to terminate my Medicare Part B benefits! I have tried calling at least 4 times and each time I get a different answer. The last person I spoke to told me the form I needed to do this was form CMS1763 and could only be obtained online! I have been on every possible site looking for this form and each time it tells me this form IS NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE! Please help, I am very frustrated and the longer it takes to get the form, the more of my social security benefits are being lost to pay for this coverage which I DO NOT NEED!

  7. Pamela A.

    My husband of 25 years died 03/12/2020. I am the next of kin. But I cannot receive the social security benefits as widow since he stopped living together two years ago. Why? We have two children one is 23 years old and has autism and schizophrenia, I totally still support him. I was told by a phone visit by social security that since we were not living together at time of death I wasn’t eligible for anything. There is not common law devoice in Tennessee or this country. So again why can I not receive anything?????

    • Vonda V.

      Hi Pamela, thank you for your question. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213 for assistance or you can contact your local Social Security office. Please look for the general inquiry telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator. The number may appear under Show Additional Office Information. Please be aware that our call wait times are longer than normal. We hope this information helps.

  8. Douglas J.

    Hello,

    My earnings statement is incorrect. How do I find someone who can help me with this.
    Thank you.

    • Vonda V.

      Hi Douglas, thanks for using our blog. Ordinarily, you cannot correct your earnings after three years, three months and 15 days from the end of the taxable year in which your wages were paid. However, you can correct your record after that length of time to:
      •Confirm records with tax returns filed with the Internal Revenue Service;
      •Correct errors due to employee omissions from processed employer reports or missing reports;
      •Correct errors “on the face of the record” that is, errors we can find by examining our records of processed reports; and
      •Include wages reported by an employer as paid to an individual, but not shown in our records.

      To correct your Social Security earnings record, contact us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778). It will be helpful to have information such as Forms W-2, pay stubs, etc.
