Earlier this week, The White House issued national guidance regarding Opening Up America Again. We are evaluating this information as it relates to our agency and are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation across the nation. In fulfilling Social Security’s mission, when we reopen offices to the public, we will provide a safe environment for both the people we serve and our employees.

As we continue to develop our plans, our offices will remain closed to the public for face-to-face service, and our employees will continue to work remotely and provide services to the public. We will provide updates moving forward and post updated information on the status of our offices, by state, at our website. Our agency will provide these updates directly, and please disregard other sources of information regarding the status of our offices.

We will continue to provide the vital service the public relies on. Please visit our website for more information about our services during the pandemic.

How do I know if we are going to get our stimulis package

    • V.V.

Hi Tina, thank you for your question. The Internal Revenue Service, which is part of the Department of Treasury, will be making Economic Income Payments to eligible people. To help you quickly and easily determine whether you need to take any action to receive your Economic Impact Payment, or a payment for your qualifying child, check out the step-by-step instructions on the Social Security and Coronavirus web page.

My daughter has been on disability as mentally disabled for 10 years, and social security caseworker is requesting current info for medical diagnosis etc., we’ve filled out a whole set of forms three times now, and this case worker leaves messages (two weeks later) threatening to stop disability if the info isn’t received. we have left messages several times requesting some other method to get this info to this case worker like faxing or something but she never picks up her phone and never calls back (when there is someone there to pick up.) except to leave messages saying she hasn’t received the information. The one time my wife whom is the representative payee managed to get her on the phone, she was rude and abrupt and not very helpful. This is so frustrating. trying to cooperate fully but it’s like this person wants us to fail and lose benefits. Please help.

    • Michelle L.

I agree 100%. I am still waiting also. We were suppose to be one of the first to get our payment, and now all we get is the run around and excuses. Everyone of my neighbor’s have received their payments, except me. I think it is a screwed up mess with the IRS. I am 62 years old ,been on SSID since 1973, and have multiple medical issues, but do you think the IRE cards about that ? He’ll know !! They care more about the working people instead of the elderly. I think President Trump should of just sent us are checks himself. He’ll we could all be DEAD BEFORE WE GET ARE STIMULUS PAYMENTS. “THANKS A LOT IRS, FOR NOTHING ” !!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Felicia

You are absoultely right Michelle there are so many lies and excusing being told one behind another the Irs needs to give us our dam money and stop lying to us!!!!

Hi, I applied for a new SSN early March, but it hasn’t been issued yet. The call center is unable to assist. Without SSN I’m unable to do anything, and it’s been more than 2 months. Can I reach anyone who can assist other than the call center?
        Thanks

        • V.V.

            Thanks for your reply.
The call center is unable to assist. They keep telling me they don’t have access to this sort of information.
Without SSN I’m literally unable to do or get anything. No drivers license, can’t rent, can’t accept any of the job offers I’m getting.

WHERE IS MY STIMULUS CHECK AT…………I HAVE DD WITH SSI

It’s very disheartening considering The virus has attack and is still killing a large portion of the elderly population Social Security offices are shut down there’s very little correspondence between recipient and the offices how can they disrupt and suspension of there income of anyone during a pandemic cutting their checks disqualify them they’re not able to go in and defend themselves or speak to someone who can rectify the situations all the nasty little things are going on behind the scene but the picture in the media is very different they’re stating that the services of the elderly and disabled will not be interrupted but in the background they’re evaluating and taking peoples checks from them suspending their incomes not only are we victims of the virus but we’re going to be the new and Impoverish community I need your help mr. Andrew Saul my name is Brenda Cradler my phone number is 214-229-5014 and I need help this is just not fair it’s cruel and unnecessary companies are getting billions of the stimulus money and yet you all find time to take a $1.340 $ check a month from a recipient that’s all the income I have every month I need help I need direction and I need it’s speedily Thank you sir good day

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who don’t file tax returns will start receiving their automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from the Treasury Department in early May.
