Earlier this week, The White House issued national guidance regarding Opening Up America Again. We are evaluating this information as it relates to our agency and are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation across the nation. In fulfilling Social Security’s mission, when we reopen offices to the public, we will provide a safe environment for both the people we serve and our employees.

As we continue to develop our plans, our offices will remain closed to the public for face-to-face service, and our employees will continue to work remotely and provide services to the public. We will provide updates moving forward and post updated information on the status of our offices, by state, at our website. Our agency will provide these updates directly, and please disregard other sources of information regarding the status of our offices.

We will continue to provide the vital service the public relies on. Please visit our website for more information about our services during the pandemic.

We can gripe all we want here, its the I.R.S. that has to be talk to. And thats wherever they open up. I.R.S. are the ones to distribute eip stimulus checks . so thats who we need talk to not social security, and. IF you can contact social security , they will tell contact I.R.S. oh and i haven’t gotten eip yet ssdi ? Senior citizen , no dependents, no one claimed me im my own person,, single never married,

I have a question that I can not get a straight answer on.My son who is 10 is disabled and needs 24/7 care .So that is my job. After a very long wait he did get disability My question is I have no income but my son does have disability now .So how will we both get our stimulus will his be on his direct deposit and will mine be with him because our social numbers are both connected on his disability because he is a minor child ?

One stimulus 1200 and 500 thats how it should be , but who knows there track record been off good luck

    • Vonda V.

Hi Tracy, thanks for using our blog. If you did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, and have qualifying children under age 17, you should immediately go to the IRS’s webpage and visit the Non-Filers: Enter Your Information section to provide your information. SSI recipients who have dependent children and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes need to act by Tuesday, May 5, in order to receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.

I recieve Social Security survivor benefits each month by direct deposit. I am not required to file taxes as that is my only income. I have not recieved my stimulus payment yet. The get my payment app gives me a message that the status is unavailable. Do I need to file a simple tax return for 2019 in order to get my $1200?

  5. Forgenna H.

I got my monthly payment but no stimulus money . I don’t understand why I did not get it . So
If you on SSDI do you get the money ? Have not heard of anyone that got it as yet on SSI or SSDI .

    • Peter

Most did on ssdi and some didn’t that be me ! Not on ssi but the other, due date 29th lol came n went ! New date ? May 6th from rumors on here ! Ssi people anywhere from the first wk of may 1st —-7th is the first wk we shall see again IF.?

  6. James A.

I get SSI. GOT my monthly payment 4 May. But NO STIMULUS, I WANT TO KNOW WHY???

  7. Felicia

As of May1, 2020″check direct express card no stimulus money was told by a ssa funds would be added to our regular benefits that’s a dam lie too. Don’t make any sense how we.as low income families have been pushed to the bottom pile of list and everyday a different lie about the date we get our stimulus payment same way with our veterans too they were suppose to get their stimulus payment the same time as ssi got theirs. Instead a bunch of lies and everyday different dates keep changing for these people who fought for our country and could have lost their life on the battlefields thank God they all made it back home they have gotten pushed to the bottom of the pile too this is ridiculous what’s going on with our stimulus money!!!

    • Julia

I agree I didn’t received anything.. it’s says it was mailed may1st . Why would they mail it if I already had direct deposit for my SSI..smh

      • Felicia

The Irs hust keep giving us ssi and veterans receipts different dates and the run around when it comes to our stimulus dates everytime they keep giving something different first they told ssi receipts would receive our stimulus payment along with our regular benefit pay on May 1 okay no stimulus payment just our regular benefits they been lying back and forth to us low income citizens everysince March when the bill was first passed. Now it is May don’t make any dam since still we are waiting on our money ssi and veterans as always we are pushed to the bottom of the pile they treat us like we are nobody’s something needs to be done on how they have mistreated ssi and veterans receipts during this first batch of stimulus payment and also when it comes to treatment all together of us on ssi and veterans receipts period but the irs sending dead people and some non citzens stimulus checks absoultely no fairness to us as american people also they already have all our banking information on file with social security because all of it is tired up with the government and the government are the ones who issued direct express cards to social security receipts for the irs to say they don’t know our banking information that’s a bunch of compmete bullshit!!!! They act like they don’t won’t to give us the dam money either they do or don’t but don’t keep lying to us on ssi and veterans receipts because being on a fixed income every month most of us don’t have nothing left over after paying our bills and then we are back to groub zero having to struggle again from mobth to month on a fixed income I am grateful for the benefits we received don’t get me wrong I am just voicing my opinion on the treatment that some of us on ssi and veterans receipts have gone through waiting on to receive our stimulus payment but not as of yet now it’s after may 5 to middle of may just alot of confusion and no clarity for ssi and veterans receipts only thing we got go on is hope and pray

  8. Tera B.

Wasn’t sure on how direct express fit in with a stimulas payment ?

  9. Dianne D.

  10. Michaela P.

Will minor children who receive survivors benefits already, receive $500 stimulus automatically? The surviving parent is their payee.
