Supplemental Security Income Recipients, Act Now – Go to IRS.gov – A Message from Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who don’t file tax returns will start receiving their automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from the Treasury Department in early May. People receiving SSI benefits who did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, and have qualifying children under age 17, however, should not wait for their automatic $1,200 individual payment. They should immediately go to the IRS’s webpage and visit the Non-Filers: Enter Your Information section to provide their information. SSI recipients who have dependent children and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes need to act by Tuesday, May 5, in order to receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.
By taking this proactive step to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual payment. If people in this group do not provide their information to the IRS soon, their payment at this time will be $1,200 only. They would then be required to file a tax year 2020 tax return to obtain the additional $500 per eligible child.
I urge SSI recipients with qualifying children and who do not normally file taxes to take action now. Immediately go to IRS.gov so that you will receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for.
Lastly, a word of caution. Be aware of scams related to the Economic Impact Payments. There is no fee required to receive these payments. Don’t be fooled.

I filed taxes in 2018 but not 2019 I have a child who gets ssi, When I checked my payment status on the IRS website it said there was a payment deposited on April 15th 2020 and provided me with the last 4 digits of the account payment was deposited into but I have no idea where my payment is or how to access it. I receive my sons ssi through the direct express card there is no money on that card, idk how to find out what account the payment went to

I too have been unable to input my tax info with IRS due to a missing IP pin number. I am on social security retirement but didnt start receiving it until this month and everything I can find on it says that if you disnt start receiving until 2020, you will not be direct deposited your stimulus, We cant reach IRS and cant update our banking info online. Also since I havent filed taxes since 2011, IRs doesnt have a current address on file for me. I guess that means my check will be returned to IRS. Does anybody have my ideas?

I have 3 kids and 1 gets SSI and I went to IRS portal on the 11th and used the non filers to put in my direct deposit info and today when I used Get My Payment it did say it would be deposited into my bank and it had the right account info that it showed me. Then it didnt give me a date it just stated that I would be getting a date but didnt say when. Does anyone know anything about when the portal saids that how long it takes to recieve the funds in my account?

WASHINGTON—In the second big wave of stimulus payments, the IRS will send money over the next few days to people who recently provided their direct-deposit information.
These payments will likely go to two groups: One set is tax filers who successfully used the Internal Revenue Service website’s “Get My Payment” tool to add bank information by midday on April 22, according to the IRS. The other set is people who don’t file tax returns but who receive Social Security or Social Security disability benefits, according to the Treasury Department.
The payments could follow the pattern that occurred when the government sent the first round of direct deposits two weeks ago. Then, the Treasury notified banks of the coming payments on a Friday. Some people saw the money in their accounts within hours. Nearly all the payments had arrived by the following Wednesday. This time around, that would mean payments arriving by April 29.
