Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

    Just got a call from SS and said my SS# has been held for SS paments because someone else is using my card. And like the idot I am gave them my last 4 didigets of my card, only then asked was my name was right and after saying yes He asked if my address was right and said NO, Ithen asked him where his office was located and He said in texas the # he called from was 1-716-296-9054
    Yes, I’m stupid and also scared now, What could or should do now

    Received a phone call 7/29/20 from a phone number with Vermont area code 802-399-5064 with a recording saying that its social security and there is a issue with my social security number and to hold for a officer if I hang up I could be arrested. I waited but was working and didn’t have time so I hung up and called the number back it rang about 5-6 times then a voicemail recording comes on with a women who says this is Cara please leave me a message.

    I believe I am receiving calls in an attempt at a scam. Today the recorded call said my AS card in now suspended do to suspension of gradual use. Was to press One to be connected to agent. I believe I would have received a letter of this were in fact AS Administration.

    I have received three phone calls today stating that my social security account had some unusual activity, and that I should call them back right away. /they were made from three different states.
