I’m an avid Amazon shopper. Yesterday I got an email saying
billing-info@amazon.com ew Account Information-[ Case: 8201KP52]
Account action required: So I updated my credit card and they required my SS number. So I followed all the questions and gave them what they ask for. I thought it was the real Amazon website. I called Amazon when I could still not open my account. They told me they had not emailed me. So now whoever that was they have my SS number. I canceled my credit card. So now I’m telling you my story I’m concerned about my SS number. My stupid move. Hope you can help. Thank you.

My wife Anna, received a call yesterday from a person claiming to be from the Social Security Office. I did not think the SSA conducted business by phone. She thinks the call originated from 800 039 2977.They told her there was an problem with her Social Security and she may not be getting paid. She did not give out any info and just hung up.

I received a call from someone claiming they were Care
Services with United Healthcare . They wanted some information and they asked me for my Social Security. My
response in the beginning was you should have this information on file. I gave it to her. I called back and was told someone did call me but they do not ask for my social security number.

I received a robo call from “Private Caller”. The woman’s voice identified herself as an “officer” representing the SSA. Allegedly my SS card had been used apparently fraudulently in Southern Texas .I was urged to press “1” to talk with an “officer”. I was not addressed by name.
To me it was obviously a scam. It was not the first time we had got this type of call.

I received a call from 888 987 8195 saying that fraudulant activity has been seen on my soc.sec. # and that my number was being cancelled. I figured it was a hoax and call the Soc. Sec. Adm. and the recording said to go to oig.ssa.gov and file a report of the call. That is what this is.

I was called this morning with a telephone number from Texas – 1 512 717 5096 – from a man with a heavy accent claiming that he was calling from Social Security. I am a retired Federal employee who has worked for SSA for 41 years as a paralegal to Administrative Law Judges in the court of Appeals. I knew he was a scam and told him so whereby he laughed stupidly. Please publish this number so unsuspected older adults will not be subjected to this vicious scam. I know of such incidents where social security retirees have been scared out of their wits by these calls. Thank you. It is so important that these vicious people be stopped and the public educated.
