I keep getting calls stating that there has been an unusual or illegal activity with my social security and this morning another call stating that my social security number has been withdrawn.
I don’t know why that would be the case as I haven’t used the number anywhere.
They give me a number to call, but it’s never an 800 number so I don’t call it. What should I do?

7/01/2019, 10:44 A.M. Received call from someone as representative of SSA, stating that there is Fraudulent activity showing on my SS Card and if I don’t call I will have charges levied against me.
It only took 1/2 hour to get the number of the office representing the public in these matters, glad it wasn’t an emergency.
The number that called me was: 510 – 578 – 6910. I certainly hope this helps the cause, thank you for your time.

My husband and I have received suspicious phone calls regarding someone using our social security numbers. It is a recording that states “There has been suspicious use of our social security number” and then the recording asks us to please press #1. Is this something the SSA would do or the way you would handle Identity Theft issues?

We have received numerous calls on our house phone via a recorded message during the week of June 24, 2019. The message tells us that there has been suspicious activity as fraudulent on our social security number and that our social security could be in danger and we should call 469-393-0073 immediately. Another call said his name was David (did not catch last name) and he reiterated the same type of message with same telephone #. We live in Ottawa County, Ohio, and DID NOT return the call.

I have received a call saying my SS# has been suspended because of fraud.
    the number was 830-264-6945

  10. Rita R.

There should be an easier way to report the phone calls that say they are from social security. I just got another from one of these #$@$^&$, so I called them back and told them that I gave their number to ssa and they hung up on me, maybe they will stop now.
