It would be beneficial to book a video appointment online. Wait times using 1-800# is 2+ hours

I agree. I just spent 2 hours on hold and then was cut off. Seems their “on-hold” limit is 2 hours. I’ve been trying to talk to a real person in the SSA since July but the outcome is always the same.

Hi so a little over a month ago I went into the National City CA ss office and ordered a new ss card. It’s been more than 3 weeks and I still have not gotten it. So I called the number and after 2 hours of waiting on the phone, someone answered and she told me she doesn’t know where it is and that it says it was made but never mailed out. I’m SO frustrated because now I have to make another appointment and go in AGAIN, tomorrow. How does this happen? How is there not a way to talk to somebody about it and get it fixed without forcing it to be my responsibility to just suck it up and go out of my way to the office?

I asked for an option to verify my identity for online services without a phone.
I was given the video option. When I read how to use to video option IT SAYS TO CALL.
This is disgraceful.
Have a verified id.gov accounts I signed in with it and ssa.gov instantly says I can’t be verified.
I can’t call. I don’t have a way to come in and now I can’t access my account.
This has been the case for the last 2 years.
When I have gone in, nobody can help set up the online service so I can have access that way.

Yesterday a staff member at your Miami Gardens office in Florida, scheduled a phone interview for today. No one called. I had a two hour wait to get the inteview. No one answers calls. also I was told that you do not make any ADA accommodations by staff at the location.
