I called SS to report that my sister died in the Philippines on April 30, 2019. She has been living there and receiving benefits there since 2015. The one who answered the phone took all the information and told me they will stop SS payments to her bank account as of June 2019 to which I have no access. I was instructed to bring her death certificate to my local office which is West Palm Beach. Is it possible to do this without physically visiting the office. Please give me further instructions. Thank you.

    • Ann C.

Hi, Esmeralda. We are sorry to hear about your loss. You can mail a certified copy of the death certificate to your local office. We hope this helps.
