With scammers sending out fake emails trolling for personal data, I am surprised you are sending out emails requesting people log into the social security website for information on these programs. I was pretty sure it was a phishing attempt. It is very confusing to get information from many government agencies indicating they won’t email you for information and then send out an email that basically does just that… Once you click on a link, you are asked to create an account, giving away very personal information when doing so… Might want to rethink this advertising campaign.

I need to change the account number
    for deposit of benefits.

Hi, Brenda. If you are receiving Social Security retirement or disability, you can create a personal my Social Security account to change your address online. If you are receiving Supplemental Security Income, you should contact your local Social Security office immediately. We hope this helps.

I just tried to logon to my ssa account for the first time in many weeks. I received a message stating that my account was locked out of electronic information since the system tried 3 times to verify my information and was unsuccessful and I would have to wait 24 hours to try again. I only tried once. This is extremely frustrating especially when I need information only available online for applying for services. Get it together, SSA!
