    This is so disgusting!! I forgot my password. A reset code was sent to me. It does not work. the code is not suppose to expire until February 26, 2019. So now what do I do??? Wait another two weeks or longer to get another code that does not work?? I called and get a whole list of options and a warning about not being really me.

    How do I resolve this simple issue of getting to my social security account online??

    My wife and tried several times to set up her mySocialSecurity account. First attempt resulted in request being blocked. Had to contact SS and the agent unblocked acct. Attempted to proceed with ID confirmation, all the questions about mortgages, loans, etc. provided did not apply. Contacted SS again, agent said the questions were developed by the Equifax, etc. and we would need to contact them to make any corrections?

    I attempted to set up my account and got the message that an account could not be set up with the information provided.

    I don’t think I sent change of address. Moved July 2017 from 2476 Devotion Ridge Drive, Henderson, NV, 89052, to
    676 Moonlight Mesa Dr., Henderson, NV, 89011.

      Hi, Arlene. If you are receiving Social Security retirement or disability, you can create a personal my Social Security account to change your address online. If you are receiving Supplemental Security Income, you should contact your local office immediately. Just as a reminder – please be cautious about posting personal information on social media.     I’ve been trying to put in my reset code that i was sent and I’m having problems doing that

      Hi Robert, thank you for using our blog to ask your question. You have been given an activation code. When you go to http://www.ssa.gov/myaccount, select “Finish Setting Up Your Account” where you will enter the information requested, including the account activation code.

      For assistance with your account, you may:
      •Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”.

    I have received a “reset code” because I cannot access my SSA account.
    NO instructions (that work) came with this code.
    Instructions say; “visit http://www.socialsecurity.gov/myaccount and enter reset code below” .
    ENTER WHERE? This code does not work with “sign in” or “open new account”.
    Where then do I enter this code. The letter with the code does not explain this.
    CODE expires March 2 2019.
    This is the second code sent to me!
    Please respond before this code expires on March 2 2019

    I will have to go to a local SS office, I suppose. I tried resetting my password to my account, via the reset code sent to me by SSA. It instantly locked me out.
    This is very frustrating…..

    I went to my SS office. A very grumpy, kurt woman “helped” us. My husband and I just moved, so we needed to change our addresses. I tried on line and have been successful in the past. This time I was locked out for what ever reason. The very grumpy lady said it was fixed and she gave us each a RESET CODE. Where does that go??? Using those codes as a password does not work. Frustration

    Your entire system stinks!
    SSA is ambiguous and a time wasting process.
    Your instructions DO NOT WORK!
    SSA seems to be filled with overpaid incompetents.
    Does any real human being ever check to see if the instructions that you send actually make sense and work?
    I’ve tried for three weeks to gain access to my ssa account.
    Even after receiving waiting weeks to receive my RESET code the instructions are ambiguous and didn’t work.
    How about sending me som WORKING step-by-step instructions.
    Your instructions to visit http://www.Socialsecurity.gov/myaccount
    Do not result in a page (as your instructions say) in a place to enter the reset code.
    I suspect the actual address is ssa.gov/my account
    But, even there it is unclear where this reset code is entered.
    Really Really Frustrating.
    Even more disgusting is the fact that my tax dollars contribute to this BROKEN system.

    I have received three separate phon calls this afternoon that were threatening.Two of them were from an “officer Kelly”, and two from foreign speaking males who were difficult to understand.
    From what I could tell from what they said they would initiate legal action against me for fraudulent activity on my SS Card, if I didn’t return the phone call. The phone number given me was 210 807-8076 one time and 240 345-1427 another time.
    The call sounded so phony I told the men they were full of some foreign matter from a male bovine. He called me an SOB and I hung up.
    I would hate to think of the elderly who could be taken in by this.
