How You Can Help Social Security Protect Your Information

Protecting your information is an important part of Social Security’s mission. You work hard and make a conscious effort to save and plan for retirement. Unfortunately, fraud and scams are a part of our current reality. Scammers try to stay a step ahead of us, but our cyber-security programs help us protect the information entrusted to us. Despite the techniques we use to thwart scams, we can’t do it alone. You can read Social Security’s joint press release with the Office of Inspector General about our new nationwide Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign. This new PSA campaign addresses these telephone impersonation schemes in a series of video and audio ads. Watch the video above and learn how you can help us protect your information.

Received a voice message on my phone from 773-661-4077 stating my SSN was suspended and that they were from department of social security administration. I needed to press “1” and the message was repeated twice. I tried to call # back but it is busy.

Today, at my workplace (my phone number is posted on the company website) I received a phone call from (214) 256 – 4471.
The automated message stated that I needed to call them back because an “enforcement action” was pending because my SS# was flagged for criminal activity.
I called back 4 times and each time a man with Indian accented English answered claiming he was an officer at the SSA. Each time I called them out as scam artists
and they hung up immediately.
This is disgusting. Go get ’em!

I received 3 calls from this number 1-888-275-1696. It was a recording saying my social security number has been suspended. I want them to stop calling me. I do not listen after the first few lines and I hang up.

One of these jokers just called me from New York (917) 708-5616 saying my number was suspended because of suspected illegal activity. Luckily I know better than that.
