HELP ME!! I SENT IN FOR A NEW ACCESS CODE TO MY ACCOUNT– TO CHANGE THE WAY I RECEIVED SECURITY CODES. I NEED A NEW SECURITY CODE ANYTIME I WANT TO ACCESS MY SSA ACCOUNT.
THEE LETTER ARRIVED WITH MY NEW ACCESS CODE, BUT I “LOST” IT. WHEN I TRY TO SIGN IN I GET A PAGE TELLING ME TO ENTER THE NEW CODE (WHICH I DON’T HAVE). IT ASKS ME IF I RECEIVED THE CODE. OR DIDN’T RECEIVE THE CODE. THERE IS A PORTION THAT SAYS IF YOU LOST THE LETTER, OR IT DIDN’T ARRIVE…YOU CAN REQUEST ANOTHER LETTER FROM SSA, WITH A NEW ACCESS CODE. DOES NOT MATTER IF I ANSWER YES OR NO, I GET TOLD TO ENTER THE ACCESS CODE I LOST. I JUST WANT A NEW ACCESS CODE MAILED TO ME. I CAN’T GET PAST THIS SNAFU ON YOUR WEBSITE. WHICH INSISTS I ENTER THE ACCESS CODE I LOST. ALL I CAN DO IS TYPE IN MY USER NAME AND PASSWORD. THEN I GET THE PAGE DEMANDING THE CODE I LOST. WHEN I CAN’T DO THAT I GET KICKED OFF. I CAN’T EVEN GO TO A “HELP’ SECTION. THAT’S WHY I AM SENDING THIS MESSAGE TO WHOEVER YOU ARE. IT’S THE THING I CAN FIND. IF YOU CAN’T HELP ME I WILL TRY CALLING SOMEBODY MONDAY. THIS IS A REDICULOUS SITUATION.

  8. Barry l.

My account is invalid because my old email address has been cancelled (carbar4647@aol.com). I cannot use my current address without an act of congress (carbar4647@gmail.com) and we all know what a mess they are. I have errors in my benefits and cannot access my info at this time. How do I cancel my old account and start set up of my new one with this new email address? I dread calling the SS hotline because I am 73YO and may not live long enough to get through to a live person. Thank you.

    • A.C.

Hi, Barry. We are sorry to hear about your situation. It may be best to contact or visit your local office for assistance. We hope this helps.
