I’m getting a lot of phone calls telling me they are from Social Security and that I have some charges to my social security and that’s why they are calling me. I need to speak to someone regarding these calls.

•Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”; or
•Contact your local Social Security office. We hope this helps.

Tried logging into my account and get a message that you can’t verify my information. Now I am locked out for 24 hours. Need to get into my account!!!!

I am a US citizen living in Canada with a Canadian citizenship. I was told in order to check my benefits I should create an online account from the states. So I am visiting my family and when I tried to create an online account it asked for a US address, so I used my mother’s home address in the states and I got a dialog box saying “We cannot verify the information you provided” so I tried shortening my mother’s street address assuming that was causing the problem, still got the same dialog box, then I tried using another email address and then got another dialog box “We have suspended electronic access to your personal information.” Must wait 24 hours to try again. I cannot use my Canadian address because the online form asks for a US address. I have gone to the SS office in my home town and to the office near the Canada/US border in NY and they have said the same thing, go online and create an account.
