I need to prove that I receive social security by showing my 1099s for 2016 and 2017.. I have spent 3 hours trying to do this. Can you help me PLEASE,

My wife created an account some time ago but has totally forgotten the details of login , questions etc.
What does she need to do to re-activate and up[date the account. She was told that she would receive an email but that was 2 days ago and no email so far.

I sent in my application on July 31 2018 by email in order to begin receiving my Social Security benefits. I can not set up a “My Social Security Account” because I currently live in Israel and don’t have an American address or phone number .Please send information on how I can check about the status of my request.

    Thank you

I created a “My Social Security” account and changed the password on 9/21/2018 – or thought I did. I am locked out of my account after trying too many times to access it. I had to close my checking account on 10/4/2018, where my checks are electronically deposited, because of a fraudulent encounter. I opened a new checking account at the same bank. I want to NOTIFY Social Security of the change. I CAN’T GET ANYWHERE WITH THIS WEB SITE. What is wrong with the SSA to make online access impossible? And no way to contact the security/IT/computer issues departments. I fear that I won’t get my October check and won’t be able to pay my November rent. Thanks a lot, SSA.

My disabled son is non verbal and 31 years old. He has a social security number and receives SSDI. I am his parent, his legal guardian and his representative payee. He lives at home with me.

Question: Is there any way that I set up up a “mySocialSecurity” account on his behalf so that I may easily access information on his behalf?

    • V.V.

Hi Adra. You can only create a my Social Security account using your own personal information and for your own exclusive use. You cannot create or use an account on behalf of another person, even if you have that person’s written permission or are that person’s representative payee.
