A Social Security 1099 is a tax form Social Security mails each year in January to people who receive Social Security benefits. It shows the total amount of benefits you received from Social Security in the previous year so you know how much Social Security income to report to the IRS on your tax return.

My husband & I are both disabled. Our son-n-law claimed us on his 2019 taxes. We have not yet got our stimulus check. My sister has custody of her grandchild & her husband became disabled last year. Her granddaughter is almost 18 yo in September, she got a $1200 stimulus check & also my sister & her husband rec’d $500 also for their granddaughter. Why did they receive extra money & my husband & I haven’t rec’d our stimulus check? Will we get a stimulus check?

I like to know if a dad on SSDI and his 13 year old son get money from him, does the boy get a ssa-1099 tax form to, his mother name is on the bank account to

  10. Ann-Marie T.

There is no bank info on my SSA 1099 Form. I do have direct deposit for my benefits. How will the IRS know which bank to send my stimulus money?

    • Vonda V.

Hi Ann-Marie, thank you for your question. Social Security retirement, survivors, or disability beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who do not have qualifying children under age 17 do not need to take any action with the IRS. You will automatically receive your $1,200 economic impact payment directly from the IRS. You should receive the automatic payments by direct deposit, Direct Express debit card, or by paper check, just as you would normally receive your Social Security benefits. Treasury expects automatic payments for Social Security beneficiaries no later than the end of April and automatic payments for SSI recipients no later than early May. We hope this helps.

      • Andrea M.

No because I get SSDI and still no stimulus check. My monthly benefits were credited to me yesterday on my Direct Express Card.
