All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

Please read our press release to learn more, including how to get help from the Social Security Administration by phone and online. You can also visit our website to learn more and stay up to date.

Everyone is still getting there regularly checks, that is not changing. As of right now if the bill passes, in April and May people on SSI and Disability will get a check like everyone else. There is another stimulus check that is only for tax payers. If you filed your taxes you will get that check and they are talking about possibly another one in the fall depending on this virus. Then there is another stimulus for businesses. Pay attention people watch the news and listen to the conferences not just the internet.

You say As of right now if the bill passes, in April and May people on SSI and Disability will get a check like everyone else. And Senators and White House officials have already agreed on a $2 trillion stimulus package to aid the economic fallout caused by the coronavirus pandemic
HOWEVER I will believe it when I see it because politicians care very little about low income citizens and are mostly concerned with brownie points from those with higher income brackets who pay a lot more taxes but have much less real needs than those in low income brackets who actually both need and deserve the stimulus checks much more than the richer citizens do

Common now rather she was rude are not forgive and let go and let God have His way , this is not the time for any of this foolishness, do you see all of these people who’s dying , plus who’s already died from this Coronavirus instead of all of this bickering amoungst one another, we needs to be Praying and repenting , it’s so much that has been happening in this world right before our very eyes and we’ve been warned , but not taking heed , and this right here is something huge that’s happening all around this whole world , people better wake up , and surrender their life’s over to Christ right now before the great day of the Lord appears , no man knows the day are the hour , he will come like a theif in the night and all who is not ready will be left behind, read ur Bible and get to know who Christ is , I read the KJV , Jesus is coming back for a Church without no spots are wrinkles , get ur house in order now , don’t get left behind. ???⛪️?❤️

No! Anyone on SSDI, SSD, or SSI will not be getting the $1,200, $1,000 , or $600. What you will get is an additional $200 increase monthly to the benefits you already receive. But this $200 monthly increase will only last for 2 years. The Republicans are furious that the Democrats are demanding this for Social Security recipients. Because of this new push from Democrats that this be added to the stimulus bill. Is the reason why the stimulus bill was held up. The good news is. It’s better to get the extra $200 a month to your SS payments . Than a one sum lump of $1000. 200 a month for 2 years is $4,800.

  6. Tasha D.

I didn’t file taxes last year because I waited until this year to file both years together I worked the same job for 4 years until back in Jan.2020 now only working my new job I still haven’t been able to file yet will do it tomorrow will I still be able to receive the stimulus check?

    • A.C.

Hi, Tasha. We understand there have been reports about the possibility of additional government payments to individuals due to the economic effects of the Coronavirus. At this time, no law has been passed that calls for Social Security to issue any new payments. We hope this helps to answer your question.

  7. The o.

OK Here is what will happen…You aint geeting nothing and the reason is complex. First the Democrats are in chage in the house and they want you to die. Second, your parents were right, if you touch yourself you will go blind and Rock and Records will make you a Juvenile Delinquent. Playing with YoYos, tinkertoys, Daisy BB gunds, Schwinn Bikes and Davey Crockett Hats would make you sterile.

    • Wrong

The Old Frog. Not true. The Democrats actually added new provisions to the bill to demand that an extra $200 a month be given to SSDI& SSI recipients for 2 years .

PEOPLE what difference does it make right now???? You are all wanting answer’s that no one knows!!
    1) all people on ssi and ssd will still get their checks! Says so on the website.
    2) NO ONE KNOWS WHO WILL GET THE STIMULUS CHECK IF THEY EVEN PASS IT! It doesn’t make sense to ask when it’s not passed yet! If you want to know then watch, read the articles and press videos being posted and done daily. YOU WILL KNOW WHEN THE REST OF THE WORLD KNOWS. Until then why not leave it alone????
