“I want to provide an update to people who receive benefits from the Social Security Administration.

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced on April 1 that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an economic impact payment. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 to generate $1,200 economic impact payments to Social Security beneficiaries who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019.

Treasury, not Social Security, will make automatic payments to Social Security beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will receive these payments by direct deposit or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their Social Security benefits.

For updates from the IRS, visit their web page.

Note for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Recipients:

We are working closely with Treasury to address outstanding questions about our SSI recipients in an attempt to make the issuance of economic impact payments as quick and efficient as possible. We realize people are concerned, and the IRS will provide additional information on their web page when available. Please note that we will not consider economic impact payments as income for SSI recipients, and the payments are excluded from resources for 12 months.”

YOU UNGRATEFUL SHEEP NEED TO BE ON YOUR KNEES THANKING GOD THAT YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO LIVE IN A COUNTRY THAT TAKES CARE OF ITS CITIZENS AND GIVES US RIGHTS AT ALL. A COUNTRY AND A PRESIDENT WHO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO QUICKLY AND INTELLIGENTLY HANDLE A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC OF THIS MAGNITUDE, AND HAVE WORKED TIRELESSLY DAY AND NIGHT TO GRANT ALL OF ITS CITIZENS A STIMULUS PACKAGE. WHAT DO YOU THINK PEOPLE IN OTHER THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES ARE GETTING FROM THEIR GOVERMENT?

So on my tax return I claim head of household therefore I claim my mother who receives SSI as well as my son (19yrs) who’s on disability, since I claim them as dependents will either one of them receive a stimulus check ?

I don’t see why not on there part but on the irs and ssi website doesn’t say anything about them not getting it

    • Teresa

No. They can’t be claimed by anyone in order to receive the stimulus money. I apologize if that’s not what you wanted to hear. But God Bless you and your family.

Does anyone know. This..If a 16 year old award of the state .. Drawing SS for mom death.. Survivor benefits..Will she recieve any money? Thanks

What I don’t understand is IRS says my son can’t be considered for tax credit because he is 17. Okay it says he can’t get stimulus from me or his father because he is our dependent (although like i said he doesn’t get tax credit) so does he get an adult payment of his own or are all 17 year olds just screwed out of it completely?

I receive Social Security benefits by direct deposit. I DID file my taxes for 2019 but did not supply bank info to the IRS because I didn’t get a refund. Will this complicate or delay me receiving my stimulus money by direct deposit?

I would like to know if anyone of authority knows when thee checks will be direct deposited to SS recipients accounts? Mainly, because I never received a stimulus check in 2009 or the other one either. I just don’t want my hopes up and wind up with nothing. My husband and I have separate accounts and our money is our own. I’ve been disabled since 2002, permanently disabled since 2006. My SS check has been direct deposited ever since then. My husband has always had his check direct deposited. Just don’t want our hopes up to have them squashed again. Like back when the other 2 were sent out and I never got one. I don’t want an answer except from someone who KNOWS. We can speculate all day, but until we know for sure from a government official, I’m swinging in the wind. And if everyone else got a check during the other 2 stimulus packages, why did I not get one of those?

I have a quick question if a child receives ssi for disabilities would they receive a stimulus or not?

    • ssdi i.

nope children under 16 wont get a check because they are dependents if the parent claims them the parent gets an extra 500 but no only adults get the regular stimulus money.
