Us who are on disability are homeless because we have worked and then fell with health problems which ( in my case of cancer) is going to take my life anyway. So why would you want to give people who can’t even afford to have a home (on $700.00 a month) a stimulas check for $1000.00? They would just rent a home and MAYBE be able to EAT and be able to pay for medicine for 1 month! We can’t do that!! We don’t even take care of our Veterans. So be happy for those people who ARE healthy, and able to work. They have to Choose WHERE they Want to live, WHAT they Want to eat for each meal, WHAT kind of Vehicle they want to Drive, and If they should turn on the Heat or Air! They will also have to go pay for their medicine as soon as it gets called in!! So let’s make sure they get EXTRA money because they have to make it till the next week, 2 weeks, or they may not have a Roof to get under, Food to eat when they want, a way to go out to eat or shopping, Vehicles to get them where they Want or need to go, Warm in the winter, Cool in the summer, Medicine to make them well, OR even be able to have some change in their pockets or bank till payday!!! SO just because we are sick anyway why worry about helping us??? We have ROBBED ourselves from life by ASKING for help. WE should have NEVER fell short, therefore we should be punished and sleep in our cold wet beds, dig food from where we can when we can, and just die off anyway. That way all the (ROOT OF ALL EVIL) Money can set in their FAT bank accounts!!
    THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
LAND OF THE free, AND THE HOME OF THE homeless, disabled, dieing BRAVE!!!

      That was well said.

People on Social Security and disability SHOULD also receive it too, every American means just that, don’t insult people getting money from SS , they should get it also .. but not a word on TV about it .

    • Joseph M.

Holy fuck nuts, you greedy drama queen.

Right I think they are talking about those who earn over 50,000. If you take them in context. And you have to earn at least 2500 to get that but not sure what “qualifing income” is. Would that be earning income as oppsed to passive income? Most of us on SSI don’t earn anything.

I’m pretty sure Madonna doesn’t make the cut, she made a few bucks over.

  5. marcus t.

I just saw an interview with Governor Torpedo and he said
every single american adult will receive something. Some will get a check, others will get a sack of shit and possibly a virus.

    • Nevermind

Yeah? well guess what? I’m gonna blast Madonna’s Ghosttown, because thats gonna be me pretty soon. I will out live you all.

      • marcus t.

        Will Madonna get the $1000?

      • Jess

Don’t worry. The least amount non tax payers will get is $600. You DO matter, and you will get something also.

  7. fuck t.

The kids get $500. The SSI recipients? Well they get 0.

The legislation would provide checks of $1,200 per adult for many families, as well as $500 for every child in those families. Families filing jointly would receive up to $2,400 for the adults. The size of the checks would diminish for those earning more than $75,000 and phase out completely for those earning more than $99,000. The poorest families, those with no federal income tax liability, would see smaller benefits, though the minimum would be set at $600. We get 600.00.

  8. Evelina H.

    I am on ssi, less than $775 a month will I get a $1000 stimulus check ?

    • Jason D.

      If you filed taxes yes.

The $600 IS, in fact, correct. According to an article in the Wall Street Journal today, “The legislation Mr. McConnell outlined provides for low-income Americans who paid no income taxes in 2018 to receive $600 if they earned $2,500 in qualifying income. That’s half the $1,200 that middle-income adults would receive.”

Ok. $600 is fine by me.Don’t be so ungrateful and greedy people. You would be getting nothing if it wasn’t for this virus, and don’t tell me you’re all going to spend every penny of it on deliveries and cleaning supplies.

    • wlchapman

So far I don’t see anything that says the $600 will go to those on disability. I’m seeing nowhere that disability falls under the “qualifying income” test of $2,500.

      Here’s the draft:

The $600 IS, in fact, correct. See the article link below; which specifically states that “The legislation Mr. McConnell outlined provides for low-income Americans who paid no income taxes in 2018 to receive $600 if they earned $2,500 in qualifying income. That’s half the $1,200 that middle-income adults would receive.”

You are correct, however people don’t seem to understand what is meant by qualifying income. SSDI and SSI are not considered qualifying income.
