I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.
To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.
Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

Hi Paul. For your security, we do not have access to private information in this venue. We ask that members in our Blog community work with our offices with specific questions. You can call us at 1-800-772-1213 for assistance or you can contact your local Social Security office. Please look for the general inquiry telephone number at the Social Security Office Locator. The number may appear under Show Additional Office Information. Please be aware that our call wait times are longer than normal. We hope this information helps.

When r people who r on disability to get the stimulus package and how long will it take
V.V.
Hi Sabrina, thank you for your question. Treasury, not Social Security, will make these payments. We do not have information about the schedule for these payments. The IRS will provide additional information at http://www.irs.gov/coronavirus. Hopefully this is helpful.

Question will those on SSI also get a stimulus check? and if so how will it effect them in the future? will it be looked at as income even though it is not going to be taxable
Janess
This has been answered many, many times. You will, and it is going to be a TAX CREDIT; which means you WILL NOT owe the money when the 2020 tax season comes around.

My mother is my Representative Payee, how will she get my stimulus payment, will they deposit it on her direct express card or will they send a paper check. I don’t file taxes. And she does not file me on her taxes. I have moved out since 2014 into another city, so its hard to contact her. Also she has not reported I have moved out in five years and I keep requesting she so so they can send me letter concerning what they sent her. I am trying to get my payee changed, but I do not have no one else. I did not get my last stimulus. I called her and she said she would bring it down to me but its hard to believe since she has stolen from me before. Can I get some clarification so I can pay my bills that are behind.
