but as for filing we will not have to file the link i put up comes directly from I.R.S website which directs you to department of treasury so it is official but still not sure like you said about SSI what they will do there I am praying for them you can copy and paste below
Treasury News Release: Social Security Recipients Will Automatically Receive Economic Impact Payments
BS
SSI still has to file but with no income they cant file. They was going to put a simple tax return in place so everyone could but because of the recent changes they removed that idea off the table. So it went from everyone being able to get to people complaining that SS people had to file they changed it to get it to them without filing scrapped the simple filing plan and SSI people and people without work etc gets a nice big middle finger.

“The IRS will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 and Form RRB-1099” – I.R.S.
Reading comprehension is important. S.S.I. recipients don’t have either form. Ever.
See my previous post.

I see your point but hopefully they will be included they need it just as much as everyone else if not more I am pretty sure they wont be left out they will figure it out BE POSITIVE

There is a ton of confusion about this at the moment. We’re going to have to chill cause it seems nobody knows if we need to file or not.
I read everywhere that SSI recipients would be eligible for the check, but don’t know if they were official sources so there is no choice but to wait right now and see if someone at last directs us in a clear way.

S.S.I. recipients don’t have S.S.A.-1099 forms. I.R.S. says they will be using S.S.A.-1099 forms to send all S.S. recipients (including S.S.I. recipients) their stimulus checks. How can they use a nonexistent (for S.S.I. recipients) form to send S.S.I. recipients their stimulus funds? We’re they born this stupid, or do they have some top secret plan they haven’t revealed? Why are S.S.I. recipients being ignored?

Bless you, John!

I am an SSI Disability recipient with a rep payee trust account. The question nothing seems to be answering is, how will the upcoming corona stimulus payment interact with my $2000 asset limit. Normally getting a $1200 lump payment would be terrible for me- it just means losing that month’s SSI payment because of it putting me over the asset limit. Is there a provision for this? A grace period?
I wish I could save money for emergencies. Getting money shouldn’t be something I have to worry will hurt me.

They never mention people on SSI lmao tough luck huh

The Treasury announced late Wednesday that Social Security beneficiaries who typically do not file a tax return will automatically get the $1,200 payment.

Why are SSI recipients being screwed out of a stimulus payment? I did not choose to become totally and permanently disabled and forced live on Government assistance. I have tried to file a tax return for 2019, as I have been told,, but it is always rejected because I have no deductions. How can I have “deductions,” when I barely have ejough money to exist on??
John
There going post how to file a simple taxes refund for people on Ssi just gotta wait keep checking the web site. http://www.irs.gov/coronavirus
Kari
It’s because you have to wait till they put it on there irs web site and do it there but I dont think they have it in place just yet.

Me & my wife are getting SSA Disability checks. We did not have to file income taxes because there was no taxable income to file. Do we have to file a form 1099 any way to get a stimulus check?
V.V.
Hi Daniel. The Department of the Treasury will soon provide information about economic impact payments under the recently enacted law, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act.
Treasury, not Social Security, will be making direct payments to eligible people. Please do not contact Social Security about these payments as the agency does not have information to share. Instead, for the latest information, please visit http://www.irs.gov/coronavirus. Hopefully this will help.
