I want you to hear directly from me how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting our services. The first thing you should know is that we continue to pay benefits. Be aware that scammers may try to trick you into thinking the pandemic is stopping your Social Security payments but that is not true. Don’t be fooled.

To protect you and help stop the spread of this coronavirus, we cannot accept visitors in our offices at this time. There are several other ways you can get help. Many services are available online. If you have a critical need that you cannot address online, we can help you over the phone.

Please visit our website to find out what services we are continuing and which ones we are suspending, how to contact us, and important information about deadlines we are extending to ease the burden on you and medical providers during this pandemic.

Just want to let you all know that the new york times has finally got a clue and allowed anyone access to coronavirus content. it was so obnoxious when I’d click to read and it would say members only please subscribe to continue. looks like congress is pretty sure they will have their agreement in the morning

You know what, if this is going to be the end of the world, so be it. I’m tired. Look at how ugly our world has become. Seriously, just look at it. And here, of all places, a disabled and retired individuals blog, loaded down with some of the nastiest comments I’ve ever seen. We should have been supporting each other, not picking each other apart. At first I honestly believed it was fear.. but when you really look at it all, it’s just a bunch of angry souls upset that they may not get any extra money. Something we all can use, but it is not the fault of anyone here if that doesn’t happen. To those that are suffering… polio, bi polar, crons, whatever it may be, I apologize for the terrible treatment and I wish you all luck with your journeys.

trump wants to ease up on the social distancing, so folks, stop worrying about money.. we will all be be dead pretty soon.

I have to thank God that I am on disability, because you are right. The only one’s that might stay safe are those who don’t have to go out. I don’t, and I have no family to worry about. I’ll just order my groceries and wear a mask when I -must- go to dr appointments. we are living in a very sad world, and your presidents ignorance is going to claim so many lives.

    They will never include ssi.

I’m fine with that, so long as greedy corporations getting stimulus money don’t get CEO pay, stock buybacks and layoffs. People getting stimulus checks who earn more than $10,000 pay it back next tax period.

      • America

Don’t hold your breath. Somehow I think that is what will indeed happen.

pretty sad people that once were in the work force making a good income become disable, and try to live barely paying their bills and meds etc ….. just saying

I dont have to file taxes I’ve been in social security disability survivors since 2012, yet I am broke now from buying the highest priced anything anywhere for my day to day everything WHY IS IT THAT THIS IS ONLY AN 2018 TAX PAYER BENEFIT? so wrong

    • harry

because you don’t count and i don’t either. get over it

I hate trump. but this shit where the democrats are delaying us for so long, has me wanting to vote differently this season. Quit arguing and move your asses

    • Sandra P.

The reason it was delayed is that Trump was weighing the package towards benefiting corporations over people. He was trying to slip things in that didnt have anything to do with our current Covid19 emergency, such as changing emissions requirements for airlines. Its the Dems who are fighting for SSI/SSDI recipients to receive any stimulus money. This is the biggest stimulus package ever being put together in America…dang straight we need the Dems fighting for our well-being and to be sure that this is for the people, not used a vehicle for more corporate corruption amidst the emergency. If that takes an extra week to insure that it’s done right? Im for the stall. Remember what was passed in the Patriot Act because things went too quickly and people weren’t paying attention to what was in the bill due to the level of fear in the air? For me this isnt a dem/rep thing. This is a humanity thing.
