Supplemental Security Income Recipients, Act Now – Go to IRS.gov – A Message from Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who don’t file tax returns will start receiving their automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from the Treasury Department in early May. People receiving SSI benefits who did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, and have qualifying children under age 17, however, should not wait for their automatic $1,200 individual payment. They should immediately go to the IRS’s webpage and visit the Non-Filers: Enter Your Information section to provide their information. SSI recipients who have dependent children and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes need to act by Tuesday, May 5, in order to receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.

By taking this proactive step to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual payment. If people in this group do not provide their information to the IRS soon, their payment at this time will be $1,200 only. They would then be required to file a tax year 2020 tax return to obtain the additional $500 per eligible child.

I urge SSI recipients with qualifying children and who do not normally file taxes to take action now. Immediately go to IRS.gov so that you will receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for.

Lastly, a word of caution. Be aware of scams related to the Economic Impact Payments. There is no fee required to receive these payments. Don’t be fooled.

We are the people on SSI and we have a right to get a $1,200 stimulus check just like anybody else if the government is lying then we should all come together in arms and take the government down for lying to us I understand we don’t work because of our disability but we also should be getting a stimulus check to because we are SSI we are the ones who are hurting the most screw the taxpayers they can kiss my ass just because they have a job and they work well I will work too if anyone would let me I have full-blown aids but nobody wants to let me work and I could have been working most of my 20 years living with this disease but I receive SSI instead I am a Master Carpenter by trade before I got sick and I am 100% candidate for the coronavirus because of my aids situation so if the government is lying to us and if we do not get a stimulus check we need to rise up and arms and take the government down one by one and let them know we’re not going to stand for it we the people can overcome the government if we put our heads together I have checked the status page and put my information in and it says that the information I put in is not what they have on file this is a bunch of bulshit the government does not care about us and we need to take them down the government is the biggest Liars in this country and that’s what they do is lie to the people the disabled people who is on Social Security and the SSI recipients like myself are the people who is hurting worser than the people who pay taxes screw the people who pay taxes I hope they all get the coronavirus and die and I hope the government gets the coronavirus and I hope they die too it’s a shame that we are the people that’s hurting the most in this country the disabled people and they want to give free money to the taxpayers screw them assholes let them walk a mile in my shoes are in the disabled people shoes and see how they like it scraping and scrimping from the bottom of the barrel is what we do all the time wondering where our next dollar is going to come from my wife and I live in a motel we lived in a tent we been homeless quite a few times I really don’t believe that we’re going to get a stimulus check the SSI recipients I don’t believe that we are I believe that this is a conspiracy and this is a lie this country is a working country and we need money to survive the government cannot control its own people without Revenue without money if there’s no money and if there’s no Revenue if there’s no control that the government has over the American people we can take the government down if we want to and there’s nothing they can do about it they are lying to the American people and we need to do something about it I come from a military family and I’m sorry to say this but I hate this country and it needs to come to its knees once again because the government doesn’t care about its people and for the American soldiers in the military why would you fight for a country who doesn’t care about you is it really worth losing your life over I don’t think so my grandfather and my ancestors the ones who served in the military are probably turning in their grave

We have been promised this money for 2 months now. Every day they change the date. I truly beleive we will be the last ones at the dinner table, and all the food will be gone by then, as usual.

  8. Cindy B.

My name is Cindy, and when I got married Sept. 1, 2010. I didn’t take my husbands last name, and we have been living on my SSI check after he had gotten fired at Nance Carpet Plant, because they could hire eligal Mexicans for a lot less. But, he honestly wasn’t able to work then anyway, tried to get disability started and was denied. He’s been so depressed sense. He was born with gas-bubbles on his lungs .
My question is how does he get his coronis- check ? Nothing here / bill’s,etc is in his name , I have been the one to take care of both of us on my SSI check that I get every month for years now. And to put the icing on the cake– he only has 6 to 9 months left and our home , etc is falling apart and nothing we can do about it. PLEASE HELP. ( Please let me know something __ 470-409-2839 ) . WE BARELY SURVIVE AS IT IS FOR YEARS NOW. I have direct deposit for my SSI check. Thank you for your time anyway , I can say I tried. I don’t know what to do anymore. Or who to talk to about this at all. Thank you !!!

    • Alex N.

      You’ll get it this week.

    • Dee D.

You and your husband BOTH will get the payment . Your $1200 will go directly on your SSI card and he will need to fill out the form from the IRS with his social security number and address and they will send him a paper check if he doesn’t have a bank account
Take a deep breath and know your in my prayers. I promise you both will get $1200 each

    • Ryan L.

    • Deslyn C.

Hello, thank you for creating this platform so people can asking questions.
I am Deslyn Fortune and i claimed for my mom for 2018 anf 2019, but as she was not getting the $1,200 dollars w decided to query and the IRS told her because i filed for her she cannot get the $1,200 dollars.
Even if that is true, well then you guys should her share or aleast an additional, that’s not fair ,the government is gaining off of such decisions.
I should take question with the press and see how many people are in such position.

      Disappointed.

    • Frankie

i believe if you dont pay taxes n just live off the system..you deserve nothing!!!! this money should only ve for working tax payers

      • Frankie s.

        And you are….?

Nobody gives a FUCK what you believe.

      • Carlos P.

N u should go back to grammar school frankie to learn how to spell.

      • Terri

Sure. Why are you here then. Font front. You get SSI

    • Krissy

How could you say something like that if you think $771 a month is enough to live on then you’re out of your f****** mind you stupid ass f****** b**** or whoever the f*** you are you must have a lot of money or on your own home walk a mile in my shoes

    • Joy r.

Then when you get yours send it back.. Have respect for our president.

    • Donny t.

It’s probably we were already struggling before the virus and be it as it may me personally see it as a chance to pay some of the bills and living expenses that we or I fall farther and farther behind every month that’s why people on supplementary ssi are wanting it so bad plus knowing our government the odds of us getting screwed out of it are rather high in my opinion

    • Donny t.

Or the Democrats give it all to each other and third world countries such as Iran like they are trying to do now not to mention their 40000 dollar a year for office furniture and their salaries for the rest of their life even after they aren’t even in office any more and Donald Trump doesn’t need the government’s money that’s why he donates his salary to the v a or donated for his campaign he has his own that’s why Dem hate him so much it’s because they can’t but him like they did Obama and bill Clinton all facts

    • Terri

Yessss. Thank you Jukie. I said the same thing

    • Renee

Because our money paid into the system too for many many years and its due us! Having a little extra for a change is not a crime.
