Supplemental Security Income Recipients, Act Now – Go to IRS.gov – A Message from Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who don’t file tax returns will start receiving their automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from the Treasury Department in early May. People receiving SSI benefits who did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, and have qualifying children under age 17, however, should not wait for their automatic $1,200 individual payment. They should immediately go to the IRS’s webpage and visit the Non-Filers: Enter Your Information section to provide their information. SSI recipients who have dependent children and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes need to act by Tuesday, May 5, in order to receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.
By taking this proactive step to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual payment. If people in this group do not provide their information to the IRS soon, their payment at this time will be $1,200 only. They would then be required to file a tax year 2020 tax return to obtain the additional $500 per eligible child.
I urge SSI recipients with qualifying children and who do not normally file taxes to take action now. Immediately go to IRS.gov so that you will receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for.
Lastly, a word of caution. Be aware of scams related to the Economic Impact Payments. There is no fee required to receive these payments. Don’t be fooled.

We all have to be patient and loving no matter what a person decides what they do with their blessing it’s their business and we all have what is important to us in our lives and if anxiety kicks in for more relief it’s not ones duty to talk down on them for how they spend and or live their lives? You do not have to pay anything to get the stimulus payment. If you paid something? It was probably a scam.

I used the get my payment portal and it said cant confirm your eligibility at this time. What exactly does this mean, anyone else get this message?

Yes got that Message for two weeks until today have a deposit date but it’s to my old direct express card I have a new one hope it’s connected to the same account as the old one so I can receive it said will deposit on the 29th of April

If you receive SSI you will get that message because the portal is only for people who file taxes. Your information is not available on the IRS portal. You will receive a stimulus payment early May. I am not affiliated with the IRS but I do receive SSI and I have kept myself inform.

I feel the same way and so does my fiance.. We both owe child support even though we are barely able to support ourselves on a daily basis.. We were needing the stimulus to keep our house we just got into last month (we been homeless since april 2017).. we recently found out we’re expecting our first child together and now we got a letter saying they took our stimulus and gave it for child support.. The other parents work and get taxes and their stimulus payment and ours on top of that.. How is that right.. This stimulus was supposed to help people who are struggling durring this virus pandemic yet we get no help..

You two need to contact the court as soon as it reopens. If you’re homeless and still paying child support, while your former partners are comfortable, something is very wrong.

Many people are barely clinging on right now..I pray this money hits soon..no more part time work only ssi disability..but these politicians often keep getting pay raises but they drag heels giving unemployment and many could use one more stimulus payment even of 500 dollars. We are drowning out here and I hate to take handouts but surviving is what it is.
