Supplemental Security Income Recipients, Act Now – Go to IRS.gov – A Message from Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients who don’t file tax returns will start receiving their automatic Economic Impact Payments directly from the Treasury Department in early May. People receiving SSI benefits who did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes, and have qualifying children under age 17, however, should not wait for their automatic $1,200 individual payment. They should immediately go to the IRS’s webpage and visit the Non-Filers: Enter Your Information section to provide their information. SSI recipients who have dependent children and did not file 2018 or 2019 taxes need to act by Tuesday, May 5, in order to receive additional payments for their eligible children quickly.
By taking this proactive step to enter information on the IRS website about them and their qualifying children, they will also receive the $500 per dependent child payment in addition to their $1,200 individual payment. If people in this group do not provide their information to the IRS soon, their payment at this time will be $1,200 only. They would then be required to file a tax year 2020 tax return to obtain the additional $500 per eligible child.
I urge SSI recipients with qualifying children and who do not normally file taxes to take action now. Immediately go to IRS.gov so that you will receive the full amount of the Economic Impact Payments you and your family are eligible for.
Lastly, a word of caution. Be aware of scams related to the Economic Impact Payments. There is no fee required to receive these payments. Don’t be fooled.

I have not received my I have parkinson and In stage 3 have seizures and stroke I’m on ss I have not got my yet I’m thankful that Trump and God and ss letting us get it if they pass the 2nd stemlous package 2000 months for 6 months to year depended on unployedments I have parkinson in stage 3 with seizors and stroke I can’t have my deep brain stimulation surgery because of the virus so be greatful that we are getting it . and thank God and Trump and ss people allowed us to get it you will get it first week or two in May. You’re life can be alot worse than waiting on extra free money don’t get hopes up on increase on ss and ssi because this will be our increase for a year I have not gotten my yet I’m not complaining I’m thankful and greatful if we do get it. Don’t get your hopes up if it’s mint for you get it God and Trump make sure you get it so thank God and Trump and ss people for letting us getting it that’s why I didn’t go out spend all my money I paid my bills and bought food do love beyond your means or your income I don’t have cable I bought a converter box get free 25 channels to watch on tv I have my cell phone I don’t get the high payment plan I pay my bills I’m not getting my hopes up on the check I don’t drink or smoke or drugs in legal drugs unless my dr give my meds to me I live in my means I don’t live beyond my means and my income on my disability check and foodstamps I don’t buy junk food or splurge on my foodstamps. So thank God and Trump and ss people give us the stemlous package if it’s ment for you to get it

I keep reading different things. I’m on social security retirement. I have been getting my social security check deposited into my bank account 4 at least a year and a half. I have not filed an income-tax in the last 2 years. When will I get a check?

If you are over 17 and receive SSI you will get a stimulus check as long as NO ONE CLAIMED YOU ON TAXES. If you are 16 and under minors will NOT RECEIVE A CHECK. However you got your monthly check is how you will get the stimulus (not stimulant or stimulance) ie Direct Express DD or by mail. Stop stressing. Its coming. We are used to 1x month. I paid my bills after that got a bit of food I’ve been broke almost 2 weeks now. Can’t even go to the pantry cause I can’t afford a car. I go without to feed my child. SSI I’d not alot at all especially once bills are paid. I’ll pray for you ?

I’ve counted <10 elderly people commenting. Pull yourself together already. WE are used to 1 check a month. If we paid our bills with April check we have nothing to worry about. Hell. Friday is May 1

Thank you , thank you senior citizen here . and yes i did work, but for obvious reason i cant , every thing is against me w/ age i fell this winter outside and discover i couldn’t get up, i didnt get hurt i just couldn’t get up on my own, that suck, so i stayed there trying and trying to get up, i. Was on that ground for over an hour ,a young guy picked me up now my hands shake alot. Age the golden years ! Im not seeing gold tho , and yeah now i cant walk anymore that gave out too., that check stimulus i dont even know what to w/ it , i have food i paid my bills most likely give it to my step kid he’s young he’ll enjoy more than i can

My banking numbers/routing are all on file however I had to pay last year and again this year because enough money was not taken out of my RR retirement, it’s my understanding that because of this the IRS cannot use my information to direct deposit my stimulus payment for my wife and I if this is correct will my wife and I just be mailed the check or is there something I can do to have it deposited into our account. I have tried to check on IRS.gov but it will not let me in
