woman sitting on a laptopWe’re always looking for ways to provide you with innovative, quality services, and with our newest online enhancement, we’re proud to be doing just that. Now, if you meet certain requirements, you can file Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and disability applications online at the same time.

You can apply online if you:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 65.
  • Have never been married.
  • Are a U.S. citizen residing in one of the fifty states, District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands.
  • Haven’t applied for or received disability or SSI benefits in the past.

If you started another application online before April 1, but haven’t submitted it, you can take advantage of this new service option and submit a disability and SSI application together.

With this update, we are expanding service to customers with limited English proficiency by allowing them to request an appointment online for an in-person claim or teleclaim in the language of their choice.  As we provide this new service in many languages, including Spanish, we are discontinuing the separate Spanish language iClaim option.  Applicants who started and saved an iClaim in Spanish can still enter the portal and complete it for up to six months after the claim start date.

With disability, and now SSI, benefit applications online, we’re providing easier and more convenient services to support you through life’s journey.

What happens to ppl with mental health problems? Seems that most are denied over and over leaving jails to pick up the slack. Me personally have many problems with just day to day activities. I wonder what will happen to me sooner than later.

Share the “link” where to file online for SSI !!! Please ! Nobody can find this easily. Why do you purposefully make this process so difficult?

    • Ray F.

You can now file for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) online but only if you meet certain requirements.
Here is your link: https://www.ssa.gov/benefits/ssi/ Thanks!

SSA is the completely the absolute WORST website online. Everything nobody is looking for. Streamline this site please and make it navigable. Unbelievable inefficiency; the current essence of the entire social security system. You pay all the wrong people employing people to push paperwork, and attorneys that “steal” from your clients for a process that takes years but should most often take days or weeks to process with the computing power at our fingertips today! Why not put file here across every page’s top navigation bar, one “button for SSI & another for SSDI… Oh yeah, that would make far too much sense !!! The epitome of governmental bureaucracy !!! Meanwhile, years and years of more suffering for the already suffering ? Why ??? RIDICULOUS !!!
