Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

    We are receiving phone calls repeatedly from this phone number 1 510 56103964 stating:
    “This phone call is from the social security department. We just suspend your social security number because we found some suspicious activity, so if you want to know about this case just press one thank you.”

    I received a phone call from 1(800)772-1213 that said “we have received a legal affidavit to suspend your Social Security number on the media basis , (that’s how is came up on my voicemail) to get more information about this case file press one now and talk to a Social Security Administration officer.
