Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

I received a call yesterday afternoon (12/30/2019) around 7:29 pm (or possibly 8:46pm) from someone who claimed to be with Social Security. I had requested a call back from the http://www.SSA.gov website, but that had been hours earlier. I thought it was suspicious, and then shortly into the conversation, the man asked for my Social Security #. I told him I could give the last 4 digits, but he said that if I wasn’t comfortable giving my information, then he could refer me back to the 1-800 number. I hung up. I don’t know if it was fraud for sure, but it seemed very suspicious. Thank you, and God bless.

I received a call today from a person claiming to be with the SSA saying that my social security number had been suspended. The number that the call emanated from was 1-866-331-2317 The call was today when the SSA offices are closed. When redialing the above number a person came on the line saying that they were from the Tampa Social Security Administration. The call was obviously fraudulent as they had cloned the Tampa introduction on their message board.

i recieved a call from 888-315-3851 ai 3:09 today, 12/19. warning me about my ss number being taken off the books. i hung up as soon as i heard this. this seems to happen quite a bit.

i have gotten several phone calls and voicemails from 866-211-2067 stating they are the SocSec and to call back. I do not receive and SSI as of yet. Just thought you might want to look into it. tahnk you,
