Social Security Welcomes its New Commissioner

Andrew M. Saul was sworn in today as the Commissioner of Social Security at the agency’s office in Washington, D.C. He will serve a six-year term that expires on January 19, 2025.
Commissioner Saul expressed his gratitude at being chosen to serve as the Commissioner of Social Security. “The Social Security programs touch the lives of almost every American – serving in this position is a tremendous privilege and an awesome responsibility,” said Commissioner Saul. “I am humbled by the opportunity to help the agency to deliver critical services to the American people.”
Commissioner Saul brings a vast amount of experience to the position. At the federal level, one of Commissioner Saul’s greatest achievements was his work with the Federal Thrift Investment Board (FTIB). In 2002, Commissioner Saul became Chairman of the FTIB, which administers the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). The TSP provides military and federal employees the opportunity to save for additional retirement security. Commissioner Saul led the board to modernize systems and restructure executive staff. Through effective changes, he increased participation and reduced participant costs.
In addition to his federal service, Commissioner Saul has served and worked within numerous state and local governments, non-profit organizations, and private sector businesses. He started his career in the private sector, growing and managing two large publicly traded apparel chains for over 20 years. He served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, New York’s regional transportation system and the country’s largest public transportation network. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Mount Sinai Health System and Chairman of its Audit and Compliance Committee. In addition, he was a Trustee and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the National Gallery of Art. He formerly served as a board member of the United Jewish Appeal Federation of New York.
Commissioner Saul will be responsible for administering the Social Security retirement, disability and survivors insurance programs that pay over one trillion dollars annually in benefits to approximately 64 million beneficiaries, as well as the Supplemental Security Income program that provides cash assistance to more than 8 million people with limited income and resources. The agency has a national workforce of about 63,000 employees and 1,500 facilities across the country and around the world.
Commissioner Saul is from New York. He is a graduate of the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, and serves on its Board of Overseers. He and his wife of over 50 years, Denise, have two adult children and three grandchildren.

SSA is taking my survivor benefits because I made $25,000 instead of $19,000 last year. It is unforgivable that you take money that does not belong to you. My husband worked hard for that money. Now, I will not be able to pay my bills for the month and will be behind. Thanks a lot.

Hi Kin. If you are younger than full retirement age during all of 2018, we must deduct $1 from your benefits for each $2 you earn above the limit of $17,040 (or $1,420 per month). Unfortunately, but for your security, we do not have access to personal information in this venue. You can call our toll free number, 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) and ask to speak with one of our representatives, Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Or, you may contact your local Social Security office. Typically, when we need information from you for an application, we provide you with a postage paid envelope addressed to your local office for you to mail back your documents. If you are not sure who contacted you, please call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. If can also find the address to your local Social Security office.

I am a recently retired American Citizen. I was invited by Social Security to apply for early retirement when I was 62. I refused to apply.
When I turned 64 in 2018, Social Security Mgr. persuaded to apply for early retirement. A week later I received a letter from Social Security informing me that they cannot pay me anything because :”YOU DIDNOT PROVE THAT YOU WERE 62 YO…”
i CONTACTED SEVERAL POLICE STATIONS AND SEVERAL LIEUTENANTS IF THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT. TO FILE CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST SSA.
I was told that SSA is stupid but “STUPIDITY” IS NOT A CRIME.
SSA sent me a barrage of letters just weeks later demanding payment for MEDICARE even though they said I am not 62 yo yet.
I filed CRIMINAL REPORT AGAINST SSA FOR FRAUD, EMBEZZLEMENT, EXTORTION AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS TERRORISM ELDER ABUSE ENDANGERMENT ATTEMPTED MURDER AND DOZEN OTHER CHARGES.
THE Elmonte police department took a report but refused to investigate.
I have not withdrawn the criminal charges against SSA and will pursue those charges. I look forward to an investigation against SSA. I also demand a response by the new commissioner.

Sir: we tried to set up our sons SS acct. He has had a TBI and we were notified last Monday at our SS office in Paducah, KY that he will receive SSDI. Due to the TBI, he must have someone help him with his $$. He chose me, his mother. We couldn’t set his acct up on line so we called today. After approx 3 mins of prompts, I’m now on hold for 45 mins per the recording!! Really!?!?! Is that the best service that can be provided?? I’m not impressed!! Rediculous!! I hope you guys can figure this out n fix the problem.

Why?
Social Security Administration has no order from a Court for seizing any of my Payments, this act is criminal by its nature, and those performing this act are performing unlawful actions! They are in violation of the Law and my unalienable Rights.
No civil action has been filed against me and no Judicial Warrant has been put against any of my property or my payments. Someone at the Social Security Administration is just plain “stealing” from my payments and is causing me great damage. Please stop this theft from my payments and return my $25,980.50 that has been stolen from me so I can pay my bills and get needed medication. .
