Two people walking up the stairs in a school settingThe Social Security Administration (SSA) is celebrating the passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, a landmark piece of legislation that delivers long-awaited tax relief to millions of older Americans.

The bill ensures that nearly 90% of Social Security beneficiaries will no longer pay federal income taxes on their benefits, providing meaningful and immediate relief to seniors who have spent a lifetime contributing to our nation’s economy.

“This is a historic step forward for America’s seniors,” said Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano. “For nearly 90 years, Social Security has been a cornerstone of economic security for older Americans. By significantly reducing the tax burden on benefits, this legislation reaffirms President Trump’s promise to protect Social Security and helps ensure that seniors can better enjoy the retirement they’ve earned.”

The new law includes a provision that eliminates federal income taxes on Social Security benefits for most beneficiaries, providing relief to individuals and couples. It does so by providing an enhanced deduction for taxpayers aged 65 and older, ensuring that retirees can keep more of what they earned.

Social Security remains committed to providing timely, accurate information to the public and will continue working closely with federal partners to ensure beneficiaries understand how this legislation may affect them.

It would be only fair if the limitations on savings accounts would be removed. I was on disability and was saving for a down payment. Then I get letter telling me I’m not disabled I’m retired . But I’m not allowed anymore to have over $2000 in savings account. My first few checks were reduced until savings was reduced. Doesn’t matter what label you put on me I’m still disabled and this is discrimination .I still have medical expenses even more now since ins co removed transportation coverage. People can make $170,000 and get S. S. but I cant have savings account. What a scam.

I just told my story but I think I left out the fact that for about the last 3 years I’ve not been able to work because of the fact that the Covid shot I had to take to keep my job attacked my immune system and I haven’t been able to work for about three years now .I had to retire and have a very small pension to help me with expenses and have had to spend my savings, I hope that someone from social security can reach out to me to help me get my entitled disability benefits

This is a lie! This bill does *not* eliminate tax on Social Security! This bill gives massive tax cuts to the rich while cutting Medicaid, which will kill people! Trying to pacify the outrage won’t work! Republicans, we see you!

I got a Covid shot when I was working for a food store chain ,and I know for some the shot may have been a Godsend but for me ,and I guess a very small percentage of people had a bad reaction to the shot and it attracted my autoimmune system,it gave me severe arthritis causing me severe pain and Crohn’s disease and alopecia , it took all of my hair ,I miss my eyelashes the most, it even attacked my fingernails. Anyway, I was forced to take the shot to keep my job and I thought I was doing a service to my community by being there to sell food to people that needed to eat now I find myself with very little energy to do much of anything and it seems my memory is not the same as it used to be. I went to the Social Security building office when I was turning 65 and they told me that I had to have an appointment anyway I guess I still need to go back somehow someway because I’m not very good at high tech stuff

This email is obviously partisan political propaganda put out by the Trump Party at taxpayer expense. Legality is questionable.

This information is very very vague without any specific information. Please give us the requirements to qualify for this tax break.
