i need to replace a lost card for my 15 year old daughter. Can I do that online?

  3. Diane P.

We need a replacement card for our Granddaughter. Her Father, our Son passed away and she is a runaway. We have all the birth and death certificates. How can we do this. We are trying to get her Life Insurance policy her Father left her. Her Mother is another state and is court ordered not to contact her.

    • S.D.

Hi, Diane. We are sorry for your loss. You did not indicate your granddaughter’s age, but she will probably need to submit the application for a replacement Social Security card herself. For instructions, see our Social Security and Coronavirus webpage. You might also want to review our If You Are the Survivor webpage to explore whether she might be eligible for survivors benefits on her father’s record. If you have any questions, please call your local Social Security office. You’ll find the contact information using our Office Locator. We hope this is helpful.
