    • Hi Patrick, thank you for your question. First, realize you may not need a replacement card. You will rarely need to show it. Knowing your Social Security number is what is important. However, if you must get a replacement card, you may be able to apply online. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions web page for details on how to apply for a replacement Social Security card. If you are unable to apply online and you do not want to mail in your documents, which will be returned, you may need to wait for the offices to reopen. You can also call your local office and see if they will mail you an SSN printout instead of a replacement Social Security card. We are unable to process replacement Social Security card requests by phone at this time. Use our Social Security Office Locator to find your local office address. We hope this helps.

  4. My wallet was stolen from out of my car and I had everything in it from my drivers license to my social security card my Medicaid card everything..Besides DMV.being closed do to corona,I would still need proof of I.D and the same with getting my social security card. Please help

  5. I tried to get a replacement card online (PA) but I was unable to do it. Then I called the SS Office and they informed me that they were closed and I had to mail my drivers license (no copies accepted). I did not feel comfortable doing that but I had no choice. I called today to find out if they mailed my license back to me. She told me they probably did, but my card would not be delivered for at least 10 more days. When I told her that I needed it as soon as possible her answer to me was “you and everyone else”. This seems like a very antiquated way of doing things in this day and age of technology
