If you do need to replace your lost or misplaced Social Security card, our online application makes getting a replacement card easier than ever. Online card replacement is available if you live in the District of Columbia or one of the 43 states that can verify state ID information for us. If you’re only requesting a replacement card and you’re making no changes, you may be able to use our free online service.

All you need to do is create a personal my Social Security account and meet certain requirements. Opening a personal my Social Security account is easy, convenient, and secure. We protect your information by using strict identity verification and security features. Once you have a personal account, simply follow the instructions to request a replacement Social Security card.

You can apply for a replacement card online, if you:

  • Are a U. S. citizen age 18 or older with a U.S. mailing address (this includes APO, FPO, and DPO addresses);
  • Are not requesting any changes to your card (including a name change); and
  • Have a valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card.

Now is a great time to go online because Social Security offices are currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you need a replacement card, please visit our website to find out if you can take advantage of this convenient online replacement service.

    Why is the Minnesota social security office saying it’s possible to get a replacement SSN card online? I just tried through the website and it says it’s NOT available here. Will this be changed soon given the fact that the office is closed?

      Thanks for your question, Mark. In an effort to meet the changing needs of the public, and improve our service delivery, we are continuously adding states to the online replacement Social Security card service. We hope to add Minnesota in the future. Thanks!

    cinemax on roku is available as a stand-alone app. Download the app from the Roku channel store and activate it via its site for activation. Or else, you can watch it without cable using live TV streaming services like Hulu, PlayStation Vue, Amazon Prime Video. Make sure to create your account for these and choose the packages that consist of the Cinemax channel. Pay your bucks, and the plan will be active. Further, you can stream it via a big TV screen. Still having doubts, then visit our blogs and read it once and then start to add the channel. Reach @ +1-844-608-1510

    When you get married do you have to change your name on your Social Security card

    • Vonda V.

      Hi Sharon, thanks for using our blog. If your name is correct on your Social Security card, and your name was not legally changed due to marriage, there is no action that is needed with Social Security. If you do need to change or correct your name on your Social Security card, check out our Frequently Asked Questions web page for details. We hope this helps.

    I tried to get a replacement card online (PA) but I was unable to do it. Then I called the SS Office and they informed me that they were closed and I had to mail my drivers license (no copies accepted). I did not feel comfortable doing that but I had no choice. I called today to find out if they mailed my license back to me. She told me they probably did, but my card would not be delivered for at least 10 more days. When I told her that I needed it as soon as possible her answer to me was “you and everyone else”. This seems like a very antiquated way of doing things in this day and age of technology
