    Hi there,
What is the best way to get a replacement social security card for my daughter. Can I do this online?

  7. Erin L.

    Hello
I am a social worker and currently have a client whom is homeless. His name has come up on an income based housing waitlist but they needed him to have his SS card. We mailed in app requesting it over 2 months ago and still have not heard back. He will lose out on this housing oppritunity if we are not able to show proof that he has at least applied.

    • Sue

Hi, Erin. We apologize for the delay. Please have your client call his local Social Security office to check the status of his replacement card. You’ll find the number here at our Office Locator. If the housing agency will accept a printout of his SSN, we can give him a printout. If we cannot help him by phone, fax, mail, or online, we may be able to schedule an in-office appointment. Check out our Social Security and Coronavirus web page for more information. Our call volume and wait times are longer than normal, so please be patient.

    • Ms. P.

Have him call his local Social Security Office toll free number and Ask for Desk Help for a replacement social security card. A representative will get on the line and with the appropriate information verified, you will then get the status. Just make sure everything is updated.
      Blesses!
