I have not received my new SS Card

Hi, Gail. Thanks for your comment. On your receipt there should be a local phone number for you to call and speak to someone about the status of your card. To follow up on your application for a Social Security replacement card, you may have to return to the local office where you filed your application. We hope this is resolved soon.

Please warn people that if they enter “need to replace a lost SS card” what pops up LOOKS LIKE a legitimate site, but at the end they want $38.00! Is there anyway to replace it on line, or do I have to go in person? The local offices are all in terrible neighborhoods, and I don’t feel safe going there.

Hello Joanne. You can get an original Social Security card or a replacement card if yours is lost or stolen. There is no charge for a Social Security card. This service is free.
See our Frequently Asked Questions web page for complete information. Thanks!
