I know who I am and my social security card & number as I have had it for 50 years. Try to set up an account and is denied as can’t identify. Not surprising as is run by government. Don’t promote ease of getting when correct data won’t get you in. Local office said they will help and were very helpful on phone. (Tran) helped me and guess I’ll have to go in.

Hi,
I need a copy of my 1099 for taxes and I can’t get it online because I forgot password. Could you email a copy? Thank you
Barbara M.
All I want is my ssa-1099 for 2018 form to complete my 2018 taxes. I received my “form ssa-1099-social security benefit statement” but not the actual form that needs to be sent in with my taxes. I tried to sign up for an account but was told my info was incorrect. It’s not. I rechecked it. Perhaps I already signed up in the past, but I have no recollection of that. I requested by phone a replacement form be sent to me, but it will take too long, and I’d like to complete my taxes and get them sent in. How do I proceed? I am currently waiting for a call back to tell me if I have to have an actual copy with my taxes or can just copy the correct amounts from my statement.

Hi, Sarah. We are sorry to hear about your condition. Social Security pays disability benefits to people if they have a medical condition that has prevented them from working or is expected to prevent them from working for at least 12 months. We use the same five-step process to make a decision on each application. To see the process that we use, check out our Benefits Planner: Disability-How You Qualify. How can I receive a 2018 SSA-1099 statement for my father who passed away in January 2019? I cannot locate the 2018 statement and need it to file taxes.
A.C.
We are sorry to hear about your loss, William. The SSA-1099 is mailed to the last address in our records and is intended for the spouse or executor of the deceased. If you did not receive the benefit statement, the executor will need to go into the local Social Security office with proof of death and proof of executorship. An SSA-1099 can also be given to someone receiving benefits on the deceased beneficiary’s record such as a spouse, parent, or child of the deceased. If you need more information, call our toll-free number at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) and ask a representative for assistance. We hope this helps.
