Economic Impact Payments for People with a Rep Payee, and People Living in U.S. Territories

Social Security issued an update today about COVID-19 Economic Impact Payments to certain groups of Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries. Beneficiaries who have their regular monthly payments managed for them by another person, called a representative payee, will begin receiving their Economic Impact Payments from the IRS in late May.
Special rules apply to beneficiaries living in the U.S. territories: American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In general, the tax authority in each territory, not the IRS, will pay the Economic Impact Payment to eligible residents based on information the IRS will provide to the territories. It is anticipated that beneficiaries in the territories could begin receiving their Economic Impact Payment in early June.
“The Social Security Administration has been working with the IRS to provide the necessary information about Social Security and SSI beneficiaries in order to automate and expedite their Economic Impact Payments,” said Andrew Saul, Commissioner of Social Security. “While millions of our beneficiaries have already received their Economic Impact Payments from the IRS, we continue to work hard for those beneficiaries who are awaiting their payment from the IRS.”
For additional information about payments to beneficiaries with representative payees, please visit our website.
For the territories, people should contact their local tax authority with questions about these payments. Please note their website may use the term “Economic Impact Payment” or “stimulus payment.”
The eligibility requirements and other information about the Economic Impact Payments can be found at the IRS’ Economic Impact Payment Information Center. In addition, please continue to visit the IRS Coronavirus web page for the latest information.

I am exhausted! I call my Senator Manchins Office & have patiently waited, but I & my spouse suffered a major water line burst and it did extensive damage to our home. Home owners is paying the majority but we have out of pocket expenses. Earlier this month I was told over 16 systems were being interfaced to update the IRS data base on Economic Stimulus pmts. Still I get not enough Info to determine your status. I am SSDI & have had direct deposit since I became disabled & approved. I do not file. From our Beginning of our Marriage, Spouse files Married but Seperate. I don’t file as I am under 25k. Everything has gone up in price & ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE, would be so appreciated! M in WV, USA

I’m been waiting for my stimulus money ,,, in need of it REALLY BAD ,, had heart failure March 3 was put in hospital and released with only 15 to 20% use of my heart ,, fluid was around my heart and lungs ,,,
I’ve had to miss 3 of my appointments to heart doctor because I need tires on my vehicle….It’s a shame I’ve worked all my life and have to suffer …waiting on money the government gives to people who WON’T work ,,, there are people living around me even people who are related to me who will not work and haven’t worked all their life’s who has gotten the $1,200.00 while I set home sick waiting on money I worked for … SSDI has my Direct Express account information on file ,,, but that’s no help for me .. but the non workers go on line use a green dot. Account and receive money they spend on street drugs ,,,life sure isn’t far for the old and sick people … still waiting for stimulus money…

If you are on Social Security and SSDI with direct deposit or Direct Express card, then you are screwed if you haven’t received your stimulus money by April 30, 2020.
If you are on SSI without a representative payee who have a direct deposit or Direct Express card, then you got screwed if you haven’t received your stimulus money by May 13, 2020.
What do you expect from incompetent IRS employees. They can direct deposit dead people’s Social Security stimulus money, but they can’t direct deposit stimulus money to people who are still alive.

My father has had a rep payee since he was on ssdi. Now he is fully retired but has the same payee. They are both on the same direct express card. The other guy got his stimulus. My father still hasn’t received anything. Will it come on his players card?
