Social Security issued an update today about COVID-19 Economic Impact Payments to certain groups of Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries. Beneficiaries who have their regular monthly payments managed for them by another person, called a representative payee, will begin receiving their Economic Impact Payments from the IRS in late May.

Special rules apply to beneficiaries living in the U.S. territories: American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In general, the tax authority in each territory, not the IRS, will pay the Economic Impact Payment to eligible residents based on information the IRS will provide to the territories. It is anticipated that beneficiaries in the territories could begin receiving their Economic Impact Payment in early June.

“The Social Security Administration has been working with the IRS to provide the necessary information about Social Security and SSI beneficiaries in order to automate and expedite their Economic Impact Payments,” said Andrew Saul, Commissioner of Social Security. “While millions of our beneficiaries have already received their Economic Impact Payments from the IRS, we continue to work hard for those beneficiaries who are awaiting their payment from the IRS.”

For additional information about payments to beneficiaries with representative payees, please visit our website.

For the territories, people should contact their local tax authority with questions about these payments. Please note their website may use the term “Economic Impact Payment” or “stimulus payment.”

The eligibility requirements and other information about the Economic Impact Payments can be found at the IRS’ Economic Impact Payment Information Center. In addition, please continue to visit the IRS Coronavirus web page for the latest information.

I would like someone to speak with in regards to this. I am becoming impatient simply because I cannot get direct answers to my specific situation. It says this date then this date but the banks say a weekly disbursement. How are these disbursement being handled- in alphabetical order or what? I just need to things to be more specific if possible honest.

My son hasn’t received his Stimlus check yet and they just keep saying that they don’t have WHY? So WHY hasn’t he received his Stimlus money that’s due to HIM if we’re right in the middle of a Pandemic when the the people who are disability need it now who are already on fixed income already affects them.

I have direct deposit on my rush card. I receive SSI. Disabled adult child benefits under my deceased father record.
Here it is the 15th of May and I still have not received my stimlus check.
Can’t talk to anyone at irs and social security can’t answer any questions and you can’t talk to a live representative on rush card.
I have several medical underlying conditions that were my immune system is very weak.
I’m in desperate need of my stimulus check immediately.

I am 81 years old have lived and worked in the US for 65 years of my life. My direct deposit goes into my direct express account every month for years. (Same as my daughters). She received her payment via direct deposit on April 29th, however, it is still telling me that the IRS doesn’t have enough info and that I may not be eligible. Why? I have a vaild social security number, am a US citizen and can’t be taken as a dependent on anyones taxes. I am not required to do income taxes. It’s really frustrating and my anxiety is through the roof that I can’t get what I’m entitled to, can you please please help me?
    Thank you,

    Harry

How come my stimulus went to an account I don’t have and never had. How can I get it in my Direct Express debit card? I’m on SSDI. IRS is not doing anything, Social security is not doing anything and the bank that has my money has not sent it back. I have rent to pay & children to feed. Please help. Many, many thanks!!

I’m on social security and SSI I have been told I would receive my payment by direct deposit as I get every month. I have not received my payment and it is May 15th Friday I’ve had lots of promises on the dates going to be delivered and I thought SSI is being delivered on May 13th. Have I been lied to again or is it the voices? I don’t think it’s very nice toiling with people that suffer mental problems.

I agree. I have been “hearing” the same thing. Still no payment.
