Coronavirus (COVID-19): Important Information about Social Security Services

All local Social Security offices will be closed to the public for in-person service starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This decision protects the population we serve—older Americans and people with underlying medical conditions—and our employees during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, we are still able to provide critical services.

My benefits for May 1, 2020 have not been received. I do not know if it is the fault of SSA or of Direct Express. I do know however, that I need my benefits in order to live. I have nothing!!!

I. Have a ? Is there anyway I can be my self response able payee and what would I need to do or to have my own money the reason I was asking is because everyone that I had being my payee will not allow me to have access to it and I am getting tyerd of asking them to give me money for high gene or to get me what I need for my apt and I have no food and batty Hardwick is my payee and there just giving me the runaround and it’s not right for them to not ancer the phone to there clients I have not seen my doctor wonce sence I have been hear in Abilene and I need my medication and every time I call to the office thay reschedule my appointment I have also told them that I needed to help them to help me see a dentist that I can go to and they never helped me so like I am trying to see if I can be my own payee because every time I have somebody else be my payee all I do is take advantage of me and I wouldn’t see why Betty Hardwick where do that because they are supposed to be on top of everything the appointment doctors you getting to your appointments on time and stuff like that I’ve also talked to the head guy there at the Betty Hardwick and he is not doing nothing at all whatsoever to help me out I also even called the board from MHMR Betty Hardwick and they told me that they’re going to reschedule my appointment till Monday and how am I supposed to get up there if I don’t have a ride I can’t walk in the heat because I had a heat stroke it was a few years ago so like I can’t be walking up and down in the heat my name is Marc Anthony Flores there’s also one more thing I wanted to say they got me an apartment Betty Hardwick did and they are going to be allowing me to pay my own my own apartment and my bill but I don’t see how that’s going to happen because I don’t have a ride to go up there to get my checks and every time I call my caseworker or I call up there to Betty Hardwick they seem like to ignore me all the time and you know it’s kind of like taking me off because like I’m about to I mean I might lose this apartment if they don’t show up on my text you know or if they don’t work out something so I was trying to see if I can be my own payee and work this all out for myself so that way I can manage my money and and use it wisely for the things I need to get stuff done flight pay my bills first and then like food or hygiene stuff that I need in my apartment complex I still don’t even have a bed

If you have a representative payee because of a physical or mental disability and you want to become your own payee, you must show Social Security that you are now mentally and physically able to handle your money yourself. You could provide: A doctor’s statement that there has been a change in your condition and the doctor believes you are able to care for yourself; or an official copy of a court order saying that the court believes that you can take care of yourself; or other evidence that shows your ability to take care of yourself.

Hi Carl, thank you for using our blog. The Internal Revenue Service, which is part of the Department of Treasury, will be making Economic Income Payments to eligible people. Therefore, we do not have a schedule of these payments. You may find the IRS Get My Payment Frequently Asked Questions web page helpful.

To Patrick Valdivieso: In a nut-shell, You will get denied disability every time by SS. You need to get an attorney. They will not charge you until you settle. Your attorney will re-submit your case to the court. You will then appear in court and a court Judge will decide your case. Without an attorney you will simply be denied. Best of luck to you.

NOT true at all. I filed my OWN application and got it on the first try and received my large retroactive payment within THREE MONTHS.
