“I want to provide an update to people who receive benefits from the Social Security Administration.

The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) announced on April 1 that Social Security beneficiaries who are not typically required to file tax returns will not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive an economic impact payment. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will use the information on the Form SSA-1099 to generate $1,200 economic impact payments to Social Security beneficiaries who did not file tax returns in 2018 or 2019.

Treasury, not Social Security, will make automatic payments to Social Security beneficiaries. Beneficiaries will receive these payments by direct deposit or by paper check, just as they would normally receive their Social Security benefits.

For updates from the IRS, visit their web page.

Note for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Recipients:

We are working closely with Treasury to address outstanding questions about our SSI recipients in an attempt to make the issuance of economic impact payments as quick and efficient as possible. We realize people are concerned, and the IRS will provide additional information on their web page when available. Please note that we will not consider economic impact payments as income for SSI recipients, and the payments are excluded from resources for 12 months.”

Same here, I receive SSA, first it was said to be here by Wednesday April 29th, I got nothing, then it said by the end of the month…… still nothing, now it’s May 1 and I can’t seem to even get any information at all. The IRS “Get My Payment Tool” is and has always been “Status Unavailable”!!

Is IRS providing stimulus checks for SSA recipients?

I really think that it is a shame that the government is allowing the $1,200. 00 to be taken for back child support . Like as if it is so desperate these people don’t get to eat or pay bills.
For these people their children are grown. It is really sad.

    For direct express card holders
Will the stimulus check show as pending?
Or will it just automatically show up in the account?

No you not i see my regular deposit for the first month but i get the record saying that she has no information on the stimulus .i would like to know if they both comein at the same time on my direct express card from ssi

PS: if your info is not available on the IRS website “get my payment” app, and if your on SSI or ssdi, chances are your payment is being processed, and they don’t add your info until the payment is set to go out. Once your payment is ready to go out, you’ll see your info on that page. I just got my deposit to direct express account but had to wait for it to get processed by social security & IRS & treasury.

I have had direct deposit for disability since 2019, no dependents. Still no check as of today. What the hell is going on? Cant the government do the simplest thing right?

I had posted the schedule of payments on here (click on Older Comments, below these messages, on the left) to find out when you can expect to see your deposit or check. The higher your income, the longer you will be waiting. Lowest income levels were paid first, and those that filed tax returns in the past couple years. Good luck. All the info is in that link: Older Comments.
