Apply for Medicare Online

You can apply for Medicare online even if you are not ready to start your retirement benefits. Applying online can take less than 10 minutes. There are no forms to sign and we usually require no documentation. We’ll process your application and contact you if we need more information.

Visit apply for Medicare and find other important information. If you’re eligible for Medicare at age 65, your initial enrollment period begins three months before your 65th birthday and ends three months after that birthday.

Some Medicare beneficiaries may qualify for Extra Help with their Medicare prescription drug plan costs. To qualify for Extra Help, a person must be receiving Medicare, have limited resources and income, and reside in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.     I will be turning 65 on June 8. I need to apply for Medicare Parts A and B, where I can find the application? I need to get this done soon.

      Hi Susan, thank you for using our blog. Generally, individuals receiving Social Security benefits are automatically enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. If you are at least 64 years and 9 months old and aren’t receiving Social Security benefits, you can apply for Medicare A and B online.

      If you already have Medicare Part A and need to sign up for Medicare Part B, there are some forms that you will need to complete and submit. See our Frequently Asked Questions web page for options on how to submit those forms. We hope this helps!

    Oh, yeah….and I don’t even remember signing up for a MySocialSecurity account! If I did this, it was a LONG time ago and no longer have access to the email address I was using at the time! What can I do?

      Hi, Alicia. If you are still unable to create an account or encounter a problem with your personal my Social Security account, you may:
      •Call us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At the voice prompt, say “helpdesk”; or
      •Contact your local Social Security office. Your local office can also assist. We hope this helps.

    I’m trying to apply for Medicaid but forgot my MySocialSecurity ID and password. I called and got a reset code, but there’s no indication on where to enter that! HELP!

    Hello.

    I am 63 years told. I received a letter stating that I am able to apply for Medicare. I also received my card in the mail. I am disabled, receive SSDI (starting April 2019), and am on Complete Medicaid and have not had to pay for any doctor visit, medications, or hospital visits (including ER).

    I noticed that Medicare is listed on my Social Security account, too. I have an insurance agent who helps me with medical insurance and he told me that I qualify for DSNP program. How do I go about applying for Medicare under these conditions?

    Will I have to pay anything after I am on Medicare?

      Hi Daniel, thanks for using our blog. You are automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A and B if you’ve been entitled to Social Security disability benefits for 24 months. An information packet will arrive in the mail a few months before you become eligible. Check out the Medicare brochure for more information.

    Did I get auto enrolled in Part A when starting SS at age 62? Now want to enroll in Part B under the special enrollment period.
    The Part B form states that I need to all ready have Part A. I don’t know if I do or not.

    I cannot find where to sign up for medicare A B and D!!! I won’t turn 65 til April 2021 but need to get this done.

    I called medicare – they said to call Social Security. I called Social security and was put on hold! Came here and your website said “apply in 10 minutes on line”….and all I got was more links.
