Update on Social Security Offices
Reading Time: 1 MinuteLast Updated: February 21, 2023
Earlier this week, The White House issued national guidance regarding Opening Up America Again. We are evaluating this information as it relates to our agency and are continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation across the nation. In fulfilling Social Security’s mission, when we reopen offices to the public, we will provide a safe environment for both the people we serve and our employees.
As we continue to develop our plans, our offices will remain closed to the public for face-to-face service, and our employees will continue to work remotely and provide services to the public. We will provide updates moving forward and post updated information on the status of our offices, by state, at our website. Our agency will provide these updates directly, and please disregard other sources of information regarding the status of our offices.
We will continue to provide the vital service the public relies on. Please visit our website for more information about our services during the pandemic.

Do I still have to give my pay stubs for extra work while receiving SSD monthly and how?
V.V.
Hi Barbara. You can report wages by calling, or writing your local Social Security Office. The reporting options are to use the automated toll-free SSI Telephone Wage Reporting Service, the free SSI Mobile Wage Reporting Smartphone app, or the my Social Security online wage reporting tool.

Hello, I am working with Case Workers at Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry’s Men’s Shelter in Cleveland. We are wondering when the social security office will again resume face to face service, beyond your current online service only. Estimate re-opening date? Thanks

I think is important that Social Security Office works from home to issue newcomers their Social security Cards. Some people are unable to apply for jobs or paid out of packet health insurance because the lack of the number that they still do not know, but had already applied for.

Hi Minkhu, thanks for using our blog. Unfortunately, you may need to wait for the offices to reopen. Please check out our Social Security and Coronavirus web page for additional details related to getting help from Social Security while the offices are closed. We hope this helps.

Need a replacement t card and website isn’t working for that, can’t get it dont online and office is closed. I’m going to miss out on this job offer if I can ter a replacement t card. If bars, restaraunts, and nail salons can open why not government offices.
V.V.
Hi Teresa, thanks for using our blog. First, realize you may not need a replacement card. You will rarely need to show it. Knowing your Social Security number is what is important. However, if you must get a replacement card, check out our Frequently Asked Questions web page for details. If you cannot request a replacement card online, call your local office and request that we mail you an SSN printout instead of a replacement Social Security card. We are unable to process replacement Social Security card requests by phone at this time.
