Social Security Administration LogoWe want to give you an update on our preparations for returning our employees to local Social Security offices, a process called reentry.

You may have seen a proposed reentry date of January 3, 2022 in the draft reentry plan that we provided to our unions, or in the media. While some executives reentered on December 1, we have not set a reentry date for the rest of the agency.

The best way to reach us is online at SSA.gov, or by calling our National 800 Number or a local Social Security office. At this time, please remember that we can only provide in-person service by appointment only for limited, critical issues. And we continue to hold voluntary hearings by online video and phone. We are taking steps to increase in-person help for people unable to complete their business online or by phone.

We will keep you updated on our reentry process.

This is so absolutely ludicrous. Folks have to wait 2+YEARS to get things done with you all because some privilege has allowed you to completely shut down for 2 YEARS????

    • Ron s.

It’s called democrat privilege. They do what they want until we vote them out. I encourage you to vote Republican.

        I second that !!
The democrats wants to keep the country in pandemic mode.
        Vote republican!!

I must admit I find it quite amusing that you are seeing actual humans on a VERY limited basis because of covid but ALL of your mail in items have lick and seal strips on the envelopes. Talk about the height of idiocy…scared of germs but here, lack this and send it to us. Seriously?

    • Briana S.

It’s possible to use a water bottle with a sponge on the tip to wet and close the envelope. I doubt people actually physically lick all of them. These bottles are available in any stores that carry office supplies. Or a wet rag as well.

    • Clare W.

I’m not sure if you realize how many millions of forms and letters SSA mails out. The mailing machine seals the letters. They are not done by hand.

  5. Bonny T.

Even though the office is not seeing customers, is it possible to drop off documents that you have requested from me for the SS application? I am not comfortable sending these documents by mail.

    • Mike W.

They have a drop box and provide envelopes. Their envelopes have a link and seal strip which makes zero sense if they are trying to avoid germs

      • Sandee

COVID is more easily transmitted through droplets in the air that then travel into your airways and lungs. Contact is not a more likely route of transmission and I’m sure they are using gloves. Unless you are going to seal the envelope with your bougers Mike, get a grip.
