Update on Economic Impact Payments for Social Security and SSI Beneficiaries

Beginning today, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will issue Economic Impact Payments (EIP) to approximately 1.4 million SSI recipients with representative payees and 10.4 million Social Security beneficiaries with representative payees.

The IRS will issue the EIPs via direct deposit and Direct Express starting today, May 22, to the same direct deposit account or Direct Express card as the recipient’s monthly Social Security or SSI payment. Paper check EIPs will be mailed starting May 27.

    Sept. 21 How does a person check on the eip check ? My friend has never received hers from last April.

    I was release from prison in March 19 2020 do I quiafy for that first economic impact payment I did work for the prison my whole 2 years I was there and did go to school also

    So far we – my self and wife- did not receive our EIP payment, regardless of the fact that distribution started on May2020. Are we to still expect that payment? or is the distribution had been done with. Please verify

    I am the Rep. Payee for my son who receives SSI.
    To date, he has not received any EIP payments and he filed taxes last year (2019).

    Hi i received the notice april 29 /2020 that i was receiving money through the cares act by direct deposit. But i never received it. I wanted to report this in case someone stole it. im not sure how to check on this? THANKS DAVE

    That is funny I get SSI and I received a paper check iat the end of August for my Economic payment And that was supposed the second check that came the first one got lost and went to the wrong address in May so I don’t understand if we get another economic impact check it will be sent paper also instead of direct deposit oh well I will just wait and see thank You
