Submitting Fraud Allegations to the OIG

The SSA Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has determined that, due to a computer error, it did not receive any fraud allegations submitted through its online fraud-reporting form from 3:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
If you submitted an allegation during this time period, please re-submit your allegation online, or you may call the OIG’s fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Thank you.

As per instructions from the SS phone instructions today, please be advised that I received a phone call around 3:10 PM today. Upon answering a recording came on stating that my SS was being suspended because of fraud, and to use a prompt number to speak to someone from SS. The number that called me was 800-596-5106. I believe this is a scam. Thank You

This morning (12/3) at 8 AM I received a phone call claiming to be from you. They said that my SS# had been used in Texas and invited me to discuss the report with their person. Suspecting fraud, I hung up to call your local office but they were closed until 9.
I received your recorded warning when I called just after 9:30.

My husband and I have received phone calls informing us that our social security numbers have been fraudulently used in the state of Texas. The automated caller then instructs us to push 1 on the phone to be connected to Officer Barnes, which we never did . We just hang up.

I had two voice messages on my phone saying it was from Social Security. The number was 1-866-288-3396. A garbled woman’s voice was used to request I call the number back.
I have never been contacted by Social Security for any reason, so I feel certain this is bogus.

I keep getting phone calls from 915-6131377 from people with Indian accents presenting themselves as SS officers phishing for information after saying that there is a legal proceeding against me etc.
