Perfect. Fix the broken and save us some money so we don’t run out. It is terrible that we even have to employ something like DOGE because this should have already been done by EVERY administration. I am not worried about their access (especially since I am in IT), I’m worried about it being fixed properly once and for all and it being required to be maintained properly in the future.

In our experience staffing levels in SSA field offices are inadequate. We need more, not fewer, front line employees. The acting commissioner didn’t address this.

My cousin is 102, almost 103. Sharper than the TechBros. Will she suddenly be cut off because she’s over 100?

I don’t want ANYONE who doesn’t NEED access to my data having access. Not even read only. If DOGE wants to make a budget impact, start with the huge contracts WE pay to Musk via his space activities. As well, dive into the tax law & close the loopholes that enable US oligarchs not to pay taxes. Starting with the cap on payroll taxes.

I’m sincerely hoping the fraud that’s been happening for years finally ends. What a travesty and waste of funds

Only career civil servants should have access to social security information that by law is not available to the public. Elon Musk is a political operative given too much political power. A better target of fraud might be the billions of dollars in contracts Mr. Musk has with the federal government.

This is a really weak statement. A full throated defense of the agency and its employees was required. This is not that, but simply boilerplate language meant not to offend the administration. Also, if OIG and the GAO are reviewing SSA operations, why is it necessary for DOGE to be snooping around? DOGE “employees” should not have ANY access to SSA data. I worked at SSA for 40 years through many Commissioners good and bad. This statement is simply embarassing.

God Bless President Trump and Elon for continually finding fraud. Enjoying all the information I find on YouTube. All the money being sent all over the world for foolish things when the money can be used here in the USA.
Always MAGA and Elon’s DOGE Team.

Social security is our earned money. It should be protected. These remarks sound reassuring but the Trump admininistration is not abiding by the laws at this time.

I do not agree with DOGE having any kind of access to SSA. This is a breach of my privacy because DOGE personnel are not vetted or have the right to my personal information

Birds of a feather. No one believes that you and Trump’s cronies are making improvements or operating with transparency. There’s a reason the overseers have been fired.
